Stage 2 formula

my son is 6 months and is starting to eat fruits and veggies a couple times a day. He currently is on similac advance formula stage 1. Should I change him to stage 2? And if i do do I have to combine them when switching?

    Stage 2 is from 6m - 1yr. I will switch my baby over to stage 2 in a few weeks. She also eats fruits, veggies and oatmeal since 4 months old.
