2nd Trimester

Feeling icky/nauseous in the 2nd tri- 22 weeks

Has anyone else been having nausea in the 2nd tri? I had some morning sickness in the first tri, but by 14 weeks it went away. Now starting at about 21 weeks, I've been feeling gross again. When I wake up in the morning I feel kinda nauseous and sometimes when I eat I get nauseous. I was washing some dishes and a smell caught my nose, causing me to start gagging and eventually vomiting. This is something that has happened to me in the first tri, but now it seems to be coming back around. Does this mean anything significant or is it normal?

  • I'm no longer experiencing nausea, but many women experience it throughout their entire pregnancy. I wouldn't be overly concerned about nausea unless it's due to ingesting certain foods (like spoiled food or something). I'm sorry you're dealing with it though, MS is miserable!

  • I'm still experiencing it at 25 weeks. It got better last week and came back in full force this week. :(
I wouldn't be worried. Our bodies are still carrying an excess of hormones.
  • I'm still experiencing it off and on at 17 weeks. With my first two there was no trace of it after about week 11, so I am a little worried it is not going to stop this time. One thing I have noticed is that it is much worse if I forget to drink a lot of water early in the day. I get that feeling like i need to eat, but when I eat I feel sick. I think this might be my body telling me I am actually dehydrated. If I wait too late in the day to start drinking water then it is too late.
  • Every now and then I will feel nauseous. Some have it throughout their whole pregnancy. Drink plenty of water and I like to keep saltines around since they help my stomach feel better.

  • I had morning sickness through my 2nd trimester as well. Mine started when I was at 6 weeks and stopped when I was at 20 weeks (I'm 22 weeks now). It's not fun. Hang in there!
