% of couples who graduate from fertility treatments?

Does anyone know the overall percentage of couples who get through fertility treatments (any kind of treatment) and have a healthy baby? There are all kinds of statistics about the "chance" of success per cycle, per tranfer, etc but I can't find anything that gives the % of couples that ARE eventually successful, regardless of how many cycles. I am in desperate need of some mathmatical reassurance right now....like, if a 100 couples are going through treatments, is it 92% who will eventually be successful over the course of a year (or 2, or 4...)?

My doc gave me stats based on our clinic and ages. We did one fresh cycle and got pregnant on the first frozen cycle.

I'm just going to second that almost all of those stats are dependent on age.

This study says that when you add it all up, 34% of couples are eventually successful after an average of 3 cycles:

But again, the reason the numbers are generally listed by age and by clinic is because those things make a huge difference.

@jnissa thank you for the information. 33% is a scary number! That's what I worry about most. I understand I have to go through this (even though it sucks) but not knowing "if" it will work is the hardest part of it all.

I agree with PP...this is so highly dependent on diagnosis and specific RE. I was seeing any numbers as discouraging, often thinking that even if there was a 60% chance of it working, somehow it never would for me. I'm still having a hard time believing I managed to get a BFP, and I feel like the worry will only end for real when I have baby in my arms. What helped me was having a plan D,E,F (we were well past plan A and B!). I would have a child is some way or another, and forced DH to make a decision as to where he was willing to go...not because we were there, but because I needed the hope to see he was open to different option. But those can be difficult conversations to have.

I think it's important to remember that at this point we are all considered 'outliers'. I know I mentioned this on a different thread, but my friend and I went through a fresh IVF cycle at the same time this summer. I had a PERFECT cycle. Responded well, 17 top-grade blasts (froze 16), and ended up with BFN. She, however, had awful pain and when she went in for her 5 day transfer all but two arrested. The two survivals were LOW grade embryos that did not even develop to blasts. Needless to say, she is 7 weeks pregnant with twins and doing GREAT!

@jnissa thank you, the 70% after multiple cycles is kind of what I was looking for. Everyone is right that i a lot depends on the age and diagnosis, but I was just looking for some numbers of what actually happens, after many years. I also found a French study that after 2100 couples quit treatments after many years of trying, 25% became pregnant o n their own. They didn't mention age, but I find that fascinating nonetheless.
@KidShrink I feel the same way about the chances, even if they're high, I am still afraid I won't be on the right side of that but we'll keep trying....
