Baby Bald Spot

I know baby's hair is supposed to come out, but my baby has a bald spot in that back that is worrying me so bad. It started out small, now its almost his entire back head. I know there isnt' much you can do about it, but anyone else have this problem

Re: Baby Bald Spot

  • I've heard that babies get this from lying on their backs so much. Maybe you can try to change things up a bit by laying LO in one of those boppy pillows or doing more tummy time just so they aren't constantly lying down. Try not to stress it though, because it is definitely common!

  • He's been doing a lot of tummy time and chair sitting lately, so hopefully it will grow back soon.
  • My LO has a pretty big bald spot on the back of her head too. The only time she spends with her head against something is when she's sleeping or in the car (dislikes all chairs and the swing..). I honestly thought maybe she wasn't getting enough tummy time or that I was doing something wrong until I notice that when she's sleeping she rubs her head back and forth so much. No idea what to do to get her hair to grow back but it makes me pretty sad.
  • awww.my baby does the same thing. Rubs his head back and forth too.
  • My lo has it too, i find it adorable in a funny way, it's something to tell them when they're older i think. My friend told me her daughter's bald spot went away when she was 1! LO's hair was growing back there but the new hairs fell out too but i'm not worried it's normal and expected we're not doing anything wrong. Hopefully :)
  • My LO has the same bald spot from rubbing his head back and forth on the mattress at bed time. I try to put a little coconut oil on that are before bed to help decrease the amount of friction and maybe help salvage the hair thats remaining!
