Weight at 26 weeks

hello I was just wondering if there any mummy's out there that are worried about their bump just as much as I am. Before I got pregnant I was only 8 stone. Is that why my baby bump is small? Will it get bigger? Will my weight affect my little girls growth? Any advice? Thanks :)

  • OP Your bump will definitely get bigger. Every woman carries differently. It will not affect the size of your baby. I know very small girls who have had huge babies (:

  • We women are so funny if THINK we are too small we worry and if we THINK we are too big we worry.....
  • Your doc should check the approximate size of your uterus at appts, mine does it with a measuring tape. It's not exact, but at this stage it's about one inch per week- for example, I was 31" at my 31w appt today.

That being said, I'm tall and every.single.person. I meet tells me how small I'm carrying. My bump didn't even pop until a month ago, and now it's growing slowly but surely. For as long as your doctor is happy, I wouldn't worry about it.

Fundal height is measured in centimeters not inches.
  • I agree with with other ladies, as long as you are measuring okay you are good. Plus if you are gaining weight (even slowly) you are good. I'm 28wks and it was only about 2 weeks ago I got back to "pre-pregnancy" weight (I lost 10 in my first tri due to morning sickness). I still have people who aren't sure if I'm pregnant and ask my husband if I am. Hang in there.
  • Some women carry their babies out front and others carry theirs closer in. I have no idea how the baby finds a pocket closer to the back, but it happens and the bump doesn't protrude as much. I wouldn't worry or stress about it unless your doc brings it up.
