November 2015 Moms

You know it's Monday when...

You decide to take a ride to the Christmas tree shop to look for curtains for the baby's room and as soon as you get on the highway traffic is at a dead stop because they decide today is a good day to cut down trees. Within ten minutes of getting on the highway your two year old decides he's going to take his first nap in days at 10:15am. You finally pull into the parking lot of the store after sitting in traffic and you now have to pee because you had to have that coffee for the ride. And now I sit here in the parking lot letting the two year old sleep while LO tap dances on my bladder because if I wake him he'll be a complete monster. How's your Monday going? 8-}

Re: You know it's Monday when...

  • Christmas Tree Shops have the best curtains!  Hope you made it in and scored big on the deals!  Get thee home and put your feet up (easy with a two y.o. freshly napped, right?).

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • DH had a meeting an hour away and since I'm not subbing today, I decided to join him. This chair is really uncomfortable but at least I'm catching up on the bump! Also, since I joined him, we got Dunkin Donuts when we got into town. Win!

But getting up this morning is really difficult. My body was screaming for more sleep. I can't seem to get enough anymore. Guess I should get used to it ;)
  • Got a ticket a hour after my first prenatal appointment (I was 6 weeks pregnant so yes, very long ago) for "not wearing my seatbelt" when I was parked in a metered parking spot with my car in park and the keys out of the car about to open the door when a cop pulls behind me. He tries to say I ran a red light at the intersection but I didnt, and since he has no proof, he gives me a bs ticket. I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. SO was in the car and witnessed the whole thing. Went to court and plead not guilty in May. Get a new court date sent for June. SO is out of the country. I called them to tell them I needed to reschedule because my witness was out of town (like the judge told me to do if an issue were to arise) and the woman on the phone was extremely rude and said that the cop was already notified of the date so tough luck. Okay. 2 days before said court date I get a call saying that the cop broke his hand so they have to move the court date to the next month. Perfect. SO will be home. July comes, I get a letter saying that the cop is still hurt so now it's August. August I get a letter saying it's September. At this point I call yelling at the lady that this is bullshit. I had taken off of work 3 times now. Obviously, nothing got solved. So I go in for my court date today and guess what?! I'm not on the list! Because my freaking court date got moved again because the cop is still recovering. YOU DONT NEED YOUR HAND TO COME TO COURT AND ITS BEEN 4 MONTHS! Plus I never got a new letter in the mail saying my court date was now in October. As I'm flipping out to the lady, she says "calm down it's not good for the baby" I'll show you what's good for my baby lady. Shut up. She gets someone "higher" for me to talk to and the guy gives me a sob story for the cop saying that he broke his hand trying to arrest someone. Okay it can't take that long to heal I compound fractured my shin in middle school and went to school a week after surgery. Like I said, now it's been over 4 months since said accident. You can come to court. I told the guy I don't want to come to court 8.5 months pregnant and he told me they could move it to November or December which is only worse. I am innocent and at this point they should drop the ticket. I know it doesn't work like that but I'm so annoyed! I almost gave them a real reason to give me a ticket X(
  • I keep the balance in my Monday's by buying a coffee and a taco on my way to work. It makes it a lot less crappy.

Holy shit. I'd be pushing for February or March with the logic of "In November I could either go into labor or have a newborn and in December I will have a newborn and no one to watch LO".  I sort of get it, he probably can't appear in court as it counts as working if he's actually out on worker's comp or something. I'm sorry though, that's terrible :(

  • I'm home sick, and I have an appointment to get a strep throat culture in an hour. On top of that, I felt so guilty leaving work that I let the pregnancy hormones get the best of me and I cried. In front of my coworkers. Mondays, you are THE WORST!

I'm pretty sure you can refuse to accept the new court date and see the judge on the date you are scheduled.  If you explain what happened and how long this has dragged out then you will probably be able to do this.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

This is a super sucky situation. But, just throwing this out there - if he's on medical leave, he's probably not permitted to work in any capacity, including coming to court. I assume, as a police officer, if you had a bad break in your hand, it really would take months to heal fully to the point where you can go back to normal work.
That being said, it's super sucky for you, and I feel for you. :(

  • Christmas tree shops have curtains? Well, I just learned a thing.

I just learned they are more than just Christmas stores! I'd say "who knew?!" But apparently lots more people than I knew! Haha
  • @sadyy131 That is a horrible situation and I hope you can get it resolved quickly!

I scheduled a root canal for this morning and I'm leaving work only a few hours later because of the pain. I feel awful leaving but I'm so uncomfortable, the pain is spreading to my ear, and I can't swallow pills since LO loves to make them come back up. I'm going to try and sleep it off today.

    Happy Monday!!!  ;)
  • I've had a twitch in my left eyelid for a week straight. And it's raining today, which I love, but people in my town have no idea how to drive in rain so they just do 30mph and act like it's the end of the god damn world. I'm incredibly cranky today!

Not going to lie that root canal sounds 30 times worse. I hate the dentist. I hope you feel better soon!
