toddler toys

What toys are your toddlers playing with now?

I want to buy Kylah a new toy but I'm not too sure what to buy. She has enough dolls, a bball hoop, and cars.

Re: toddler toys

  • I have a boy so maybe not helpful. He's into Legos right now (although they have them for girls!).

  • Loading the player...
  • Play-doh set? New markers or crayons and a princess coloring book?
  • What about a toy cash register or fake food?
  • I got the twins plastic Dora and Elmo guitars that they love. Only down side is having Dora and Elmo signing constantly...

  • My neice loved her play kitchen and accessories that we got her when she was 3. She still uses it from time to time but my cousin who is 3 plays with it anytime she can (along with her own at home). I would say its a good route for your little girl.

Our 7 year old still loves her register, shopping cart, and fake food!! Its been fun watching her develop her "store" over her age from about 3 to now as she learned more about stores, food, money, etc!
  • Thx Ladies I'll give these a try, I get so distracted when I go into Toys r us!

  • I don't know how old your daughter is but DD loves anything that she can take apart and put back together. Legos, blocks, those boxes where you put the different shaped blocks into the corisponding holes. And crayons right now, but she just likes telling me the colors and doesn't actually draw or color too much.

If you get fake food look for the kind you can "slice". The fruit and veggie pieces are stuck together with velcro and it the set should come with a knife and cutting board. DD1 loves to slice up all the food. She also loves her tea set. Fisher Price makes a laugh and learn teapot that is really cute.

This cupcake toy has been a big hit too. I like it because it teaches colors and matching shapes. It is a little hard to pry apart the frosting from the cakes when you first get it. https://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Snacks-Sorting-Cupcakes/dp/B00AE9RJ6A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442877492&sr=8-1&keywords=cupcake+toy

  • DD plays with dolls and doll accessories like a crib and car seat, little people, her kitchen with food and dishes, stickers and books.

Yes!! DS has a pizza set with different toppings he can put on and a slicer and such that he LOVES!
  • My 2 yr 7 mth DD loves water play (she has a water table with sand in it that sometimes occupies her for hours, and loves getting the garden hose and squirting water into bowls and buckets, watering plants, 'washing' things in a bucket of water etc), duplo, 'craft' things like coloured pom poms, pipe cleaners, stickers, beads and so on...
