@Miz_Liz I am obsessed with the fake food. I cannot wait until DD is big enough to justify the play kitchen and set up a grocery store and buy all the cute pretend play food.
My neice loved her play kitchen and accessories that we got her when she was 3. She still uses it from time to time but my cousin who is 3 plays with it anytime she can (along with her own at home). I would say its a good route for your little girl.
Our 7 year old still loves her register, shopping cart, and fake food!! Its been fun watching her develop her "store" over her age from about 3 to now as she learned more about stores, food, money, etc!
I don't know how old your daughter is but DD loves anything that she can take apart and put back together. Legos, blocks, those boxes where you put the different shaped blocks into the corisponding holes. And crayons right now, but she just likes telling me the colors and doesn't actually draw or color too much.
If you get fake food look for the kind you can "slice". The fruit and veggie pieces are stuck together with velcro and it the set should come with a knife and cutting board. DD1 loves to slice up all the food. She also loves her tea set. Fisher Price makes a laugh and learn teapot that is really cute.

My 2 yr 7 mth DD loves water play (she has a water table with sand in it that sometimes occupies her for hours, and loves getting the garden hose and squirting water into bowls and buckets, watering plants, 'washing' things in a bucket of water etc), duplo, 'craft' things like coloured pom poms, pipe cleaners, stickers, beads and so on...
Re: toddler toys
Yes!! DS has a pizza set with different toppings he can put on and a slicer and such that he LOVES!
