@carleyec93

This may be odd, but im inquiring about Lucys poo pre-diet change. Last night Arya was miserable for 20 mins straight. I thought she was overtired for the day, but today she pooped and it was stringy not seedy. Im calling pedi, but was just seeing if hers was ever stringy and might just be a need for a diet change on my part.

Re: @carleyec93

  • Her poop was pretty stringy and mucusy. Do you eat a lot of dairy? I'd keep an eye on it and maybe keep a food diary and see if you can link it to anything in particular. If its just a one time or once and a while deal, it probably isn't a big deal, just her digestive system changing. If it happens consistently (with Lucy it was EVERY dirty diaper for 3 weeks) then it may be worth cutting dairy to see if it helps.

  • Hers was string and mucusy today for the first time and she was miserable again this morning before she had the BM...guess ill be keeping an eye out. I eat cheese everyday, but I can easily cut it out if need be. My freezer stash is screwed though!! :((
  • Hmm I'd cut it and see if it helps. Lucy was miserable too :( Your pedi can test her poop for blood which is more tell tale of an allergy. Lucy doesn't have blood, which means dairy irritates her stomach as more of a sensitivity. If Arya doesn't have blood, she may just be sensitive, in which case your freezer stash should be okay because she will be able to digest dairy proteins once her digestive system matures (I've heard of this happening around 4-6 months old)
  • FX shes just sensitive. Im sensitive to too much dairy and I was a colic baby so I wouldnt be surprised if she has at least a little issue and hopefully its just dairy! We were wanting to get back strictly paleo anyways so I guess thatll give us the motivation. Thank goodness shes just started seeming miserable so maybe I can get it under control quick. Thanks for talking poo with me! Lol
  • Oh I'm always willing to talk poo! ;)
  • I wouldn't doubt your stash just yet. I read that their stomach linnings thicken after 3 months and that they can sometimes handle dairy better after that. DS never had any poo issues from me eating dairy but he did have loots of gas and spitting up. I'm hoping by the time I go to work he is able to handle the dairy so I can salvage the early part of my stash.
  • @prpl11butterfly FX same for DD because my stash is so precious! I dont even pump regularly and have nearly 200oz!!!
  • Hoping little Arya doesn't have milk allergies!!! And definitely praying for your impressive stash too!!
  • We have an appointment with the Pedi in the morning and taking our poopy dipes with us to get tested for blood. She agreed sounds like a food intolerance. H is making full paleo meal plan for the next 2 weeks which will clear the dairy and gluten out of my diet. Hopefully we see a change and dont have to go as far as soy as well!

    @gulimz thank you!! Ill cry if my stash has to go if its an allergy, but ill donate it to babies in need so it wont be a total loss...still FX bc my baby needs it too!
