Re: To dye or not to dye

  • I'm going to dye my hair soon. Going to a salon so I'm can dye my hair back to my natural dark brown hair color. I have ombré at the moment. I've always been told it's ok and as long as the room/place is well ventilated.

  • Tell your stylist you're pregnant and they'll know what to do. I think they will be particularly careful about not getting dye on your scalp
  • You can color in your 2nd tri. I would just let your stylist know anyways.

  • I dyed my roots at the salon when I was 7 weeks pregnant and then when I was 14-15, I had both roots and highlights done.  My stylist never stopped working when she got pregnant. I told her that I was pregnant and even with a heightened sense of smell, the fumes never got to me and it was well ventilated in there.
  • I tried to get mine done but the color wouldn't hold. Stylist told me its my hormones.

  • To dye!
I found out I was pregnant 2 days before I had an appointment to start the process to get me back to my natural blonde. After dealing with grow out for 7 weeks, I asked my OB, and she didn't even hesitate to tell me to go for it. (I waited until I was 14 weeks to even ask, because the first trimester is such a sensitive time). I even reminded her how much bleach I was going to have to use, and she still said to go for it. So unless your doctor has some reason that you shouldn't, it's perfectly fine :)
