Probably TMI

ok so my vagina has been super sore and it feels a little swollen. Today I decided I was going to take a mirror and see what was going on down there (I needed the mirror because I am just that large!). So what I saw was that my vagina was kind of super veiny... Has anyone else experienced this?! I just think it is a little weird.

Re: Probably TMI

  • My GF told me how she got various veins in her vagina in her last pregnancy. Said it was awful. Feel for you girl. Talk to the MD!

  • No idea because I haven't looked, but this just seems like it would be normal because of the increased blood flow.
  • My sister in law has labia vericose veins and has to wear a female jock strap to provide support. I'd ask your doctor about it.
  • I thought I responded but don't see my post.
I won't look down there but I am definitely swollen. It's rather bothersome when going to the restroom. I feel like my vag or the baby are going to fall out. It's worse after sex for a few days too. I also have hemmeroids so my whole bottom half just is uncomfortable. I think it's from increased blood flow and I tend to carry low. I think DS is putting the pressure on.
My girlfriend had the same issue when she was pregnant and saw the dr about it. She said it was nothing to worry about.
  • Vericose veins on your labia during pregnancy are a common discomfort that some women experience. Definitely talk with your provider about it. If you have a desk job or sit for long periods of time, it may make it worse. Try getting some ice packs that you can use throughout the day to help with the swelling. The extra blood volume in pregnancy causes the veins down there to become swollen and tender...some women have it only for one trimester and some for their whole pregnancy until they deliver! Hopefully your situation is just an adaptation and will calm down...good luck!
  • I have intense vagina pressure and swelling down there! I just thought it was normal if feels like the baby is going to fall out something but I know that's not the case lol
  • Normal.  Swollen, puffy, sore, and/or veiny vulvas are just another common, annoying, lovely symptom.  Pressure is normal, too, and will come and go for the remainder for a lot of us.  Whoever said pregnancy is a beautiful thing forgot to mention this shit.
