sorry ladies if this is tmi! Couldn't find any other posts on this. Anyone else in pain when they walk? Or once you get up in the morning?? Have a very sore public bone it seems and trying ice and baths at night. Can anyone relate or found relief?
I just want to start by saying this is not at all what I thought this thread was about.
I have SPD and have been icing my pubic bone since my physical therapist suggested it. It's been one of the few things that gives me any sort of relief. My OB also suggested sleeping on my back in a reclined position with pillow behind my knees for support. I don't feel nearly as sore getting up now after sleeping this way, not at all like the pain I'd have sleeping on my side.
*Oh and sometimes after icing I'll put on my support belt and wear it for a while. I was just warned not to use it until I get any swelling down or the belt can aggrivate things.
I'm a physical therapist and have treated many women who are pregnant. Due to the increase in relaxin your body produces, the pubic bone area and very lower back(SI joint) can start to shift more (they are less stable). My recommendation would be to use the ice but also see if you can consult with a therapist in your area. They can assess that everything is still aligned properly and give you the proper stabilization exercises to help decrease discomfort.
Yes I have this! It's awful! It's SPD. The worst is when I try to turn over in bed and it is definitely worse after being active. I've had to cut back heaps! Physio gave me a special belt to wear and a tube thingy wear over bump.
I have this too, its so annoying because I like being quite active. I found having a seat for 5-10 minutes every so often helps, and also baths. Not tried the ice but will definitely give it a go!
