Which schedule is better for baby and grandparents

I am first responder and my job requires me to work afternoons and weekends. I get a whole weekend off every 5 weeks. I am a single parent the father is not involved in any which way possible. I always assumed that when I had a baby I would be able to use daycare but due to my career daycare hours are of no good use to me. I'm home ALL DAY. Besides even if I joined the day shift I would still be working weekends. I currently work 4pm to midnight 4 days and 2 days off. ( I also have the option to join the overnight shift 9m to 5am again 4 days and 2 off). My dad aka grandpa is retired and runs his own business partime and is always free afternoon and weekends. He said he will always be there to babysit. I even asked him to move into my home. I have a 5 bedroom home so I have plenty of space. Grandma live about 20 minutes away and Will likely want to spend some days with the baby too here and there. My question is since the grandparents will be baby sitting what schedule would be best for baby. FYI my parents are young mom is 49 and dad is 55.

Well with the 9pm-5am schedule, you get to maximize your time with baby, and your parents really wouldn't have too much work to do since baby will hopefully be asleep for most of the time they are there. However when would YOU get to sleep? By the time you get home baby will most likely be rising for the day within a few short hours.

4pm-midnight might be a good compromise, since you will be able to get a decent amount of sleep after you get home. You can spend the morning and afternoon with baby.Grandparents of course will have a bit more work to do, as they will have to handle dinner, bath time, etc. But as long as they're okay with that then I think that's the best option.

Also, if you're interested, 24-hour daycares do exist. Maybe there is one near where you live?

We have several daycares close by that offer alternate shifts. I've always been an 8-5 person but it seems like daycare would still be hard because they'd have to go to bed at daycare. Not sure I would like that.

I agree with vineheart137. I think 4-midnight probably is the most reasonable schedule for all parties involved.
