I'm also 25 weeks and I've had swelling for at least two months. Bring it up with your doctor at your next appointment and they'll let you know if it's something to be concerned about.
I had some last night, but... I think I know why. Not enough water and too much salt. I accidentally dumped an entire bottle of garlic salt into the cream gravy I was making. Haha! I thought I dumped it out enough, but no....
I have been swelling a lot since about 24 weeks...it worried me at first but the doctor said I'm fine some women just retain a lot of fluid during their pregnancy my blood pressure is perfect. I can work out, drink as much water as I want and stop eating salt all together and I still blow up haha...I'd still go to the doctor and tell them so they can keep an eye on it. make sure to get up from sitting position and walk around at least every hour for circulation and when your relaxing prop your feet up (and don't cross your ankles while sitting)
I honestly don't notice the swelling, except for when it is my feet. Other people point it out to me when they want to tell me their life stories about their pregnancies. I do put my feet up a lot though and walk quite a bit.
Definitely swelling in my feet and hands, but I live in the hot and humid south. Typically when I take a walk or wear better supporting shoes I can manage it better. Drinking lots of water and avoiding a ton of carbs has helped me too. But there are days where nothing works, especially for my poor ankles.
Ugh, ladies! My feet, ankles and now up to my shins swell daily! It's awful. I sleep with ice packs on my feet every night. I'm 29 weeks and I have just now figured out that I can't do everything I use to be able to do. It's frustrating. I live in Missouri and its hot and very humid. This makes the swelling much worse. I wish all the mommas that are swelling good luck, comfy shoes and cooler weather.
I've noticed it in my fingers periodically. I keep checking my wedding rings to make sure they're not getting stuck. I'm terrified of having to get them cut off.
I've been wearing my rings on a necklace since about 3 months, I think. Some days they fit again, most days they won't get over the knuckle. I've also had swollen feet quite often, standing in one spot & sitting on a hard chair w/o putting my feet up is the worst! I can't sit on the exam table @ the ob while I wait for them to come in either ( sometimes it's 20+ mins) or my feet start to throb. I've actually had to expand to the next hole on my Birkenstock sandals. Again, sometimes they sometimes are loose, sometimes snug. My fav though is that I now get tingling in my hands when I sleep, & walk the dog. Apparently this is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel! Yay! From, you guessed it, swelling in the tendons! You should def mention to your ob, but don't be surprised if they give you a casual "yeah, that's normal" with a cursory glance at your feet. That's what happened to me when I mentioned swelling in June. But my ob's office is kinda like that. The only one who took time to talk to me about it was the NP, who explained the carpal tunnel.
Add lemon or another citrus to your water. It is recommended in the book Essential Oils in Pregnancy, Birth & Babies. I use a blend each night on my ankles and always add lemon or orange to my water. So far, so good...still wearing my wedding rings and no noticeable swelling in my legs or feet (at 28 weeks).
