IVF Meds and Dosages

Hi girls! I was wondering if anyone on here who has gone through an ivf cycle or is currently going through a cycle can tell me what meds you were on and what dosages? I am starting out with only 75iu Gonal F and 75iu Menopur. I feel like this is too low of a starting dose and am worried my cycle may get canceled if I don't respond to these low doses. I'm 24 and have PCOS so I assume that is the reason for it. Anyone else start on low doses and still have a successful cycle? Any responses are greatly appreciated! :)

Re: IVF Meds and Dosages

  • I'm in my first IVF cycle and they have changed my meds every day based on US/BW. Even if they start out low they will adjust at your first apt if you're not responding. You should be fine! Talk to your re if you think they aren't monitoring closely enough tho. GL!!

  • Hi there ! As long as you are going in for routine monitoring you should be fine . They should be able to adjust the dose if you are not responding quick enough . My doctor had me start on 50 of gonal f and I responded well . It's better to start slow and bump up later than hyper respond and have to cancel for that reason . Good luck !!

  • Thank you girls for responding! I was getting so nervous when I saw girls saying that they were on much higher doses of meds. I go back in on Tuesday for monitoring (4 days after starting stims) so I'm sure they can adjust it at that point if needed. I have just been so crazy since we started this process, worrying about every little thing. I just have to trust that my doctor knows what he is doing and everything will work out in the end.
  • I'm glad we could help ease your concern! Follow their directions, but don't be afraid to ask questions and have them explain their decision making. It's good to be your own advocate in this process and its normal to worry over the details and outcome. GL to you on Tuesday!!!
  • I started out with the same meds and the same dosage. I'm 29, I had 22 eggs retrieved, 11 successfully fertilized, and now I'm pregnant with twins! You're on the right path, trust your doctor.
  • @beckihall congratulations! It makes me feel so good to hear that you had a successful cycle with the same meds. Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!:)
  • Thank you! Best wishes for you too!
