Infertility

Bravelle

I'm wondering if anyone else is taking Bravelle? I started 75mg on CD3 and the nurses were optimistic I would be ready to trigger this weekend. Yesterday I only had a 10 on my right ovary and a 9 and 8 on my left. This is somewhat good news because on both clomid and letrozole I only ever had one follie. But it's still taking awhile.
Apparently my LH was still low yesterday too. Today is CD 11. I'm guessing this might have to do with my PCOS? They are talking about upping my dosage on Tuesday if I haven't made much progress. Which means an additional shot every night. Ugh.
Anyway just wondering how many others have tried Bravelle. It doesn't seem like it's as common as Gonal-F.

Re: Bravelle

  • I was on bravelle...I'm pretty sure it is the same drug as gonal f just different brand name, I have pcos as well and just recently had my first ER, I only had 13 follicles total so your numbers sound good...they dont want to overstim those of us with pcos due to our increased risk of ohss...good luck on the rest of your cycle!!!

  • Yep, Gonal-F and Bravelle are the same.  I was given a prescription for both (and Follistim) and told to use whichever was covered by my insurance.  It sounds like you're on the right track!!   Good luck @kmetcalfe77!!

  • Hey! I was given Bravelle as well recently along with femara to increase follicle size. I have pcos as well. Worked very well to increase the size of one follicle to 19mm so I'm doing a trigger shot tomorrow morning (to induce ovulation) then timed intercourse will hopefully work on Tuesday. Good luck to you...sounds like you are doing all the right things!

  • I don't have pcos, just unexplained infertility so not sure if my results with it will be way different, but I did 75mg Bravelle with my first cycle, took it cd3-11. On cd9 had a 17 on the left and a 13 and 10 on the right.  On cd12 had a 22 on the left and the ones on the right did not get bigger.  The RE said the left follicle was hogging all the hormone.  I triggered that night(cd12). BFN that cycle.  My next cycle they upped my dose, 75mg Bravelle & 75mg Menopur for cd3-9.  On cd9 had a 16,15 & 15 on left and 17,17,15,14 on the right. Triggered on cd10.  BFN again!  FYI, we do the IVF Greenlight Rebate Program.  Helps a little with the cost. Also, you should be able to mix them together into one shot!! That is what my RE and pharmacy told us!  GL!    FX for you!!

  • @mrandmrssmith007 sorry to hear about your BFN's. Can I ask if you were doing TI or IUI after the trigger shot?
