Itchy belly, just in one spot, tips?

i have this one spot on my belly that is itchy and it is driving me CRAZY!! I only have a few small stretch marks near my appendix scares and belly piercing scars. The scar and marks bellow my belly button are itching like mad! I just put some gold bond itch cream on them and it seems to be helping and I lotion my entire baby belly everyday.

Anyone else dealing with smaller itchy areas? What are you using for relief?

  • The only thing that I use which has helped me is lotion with cocoa butter... have you been taking a lot of baths or anything that would dry it out?

I don't have a small itchy area, my belly in general just itches sometimes. palmers makes this oil I like.
A little OT: I get this pain to my right and a little above my belly button. It's a weird sensitive hurt. I couldn't put any pressure on this spot yesterday and sometimes it's like someone stabbed me with a dull knife. It's just one little spot kinda like your itchy area.

  • Oh also. Ice packs. I put them on my boobs and they stop itching! Maybe it would help your one spot too. Ice packs have been a god send for me!

  • Yes, I second the ice being my best friend!
  • Coconut oil heals all!
  • I don't know if it's coincidence but since I've started ending showers with cool water it has really soothed itchy skin. Also, the soaps I use have little/ no alcohol or perfumes or other nonsense in them.
My piercing scar looks ridiculous by the way..

Is that spot on top of your skin or does it feel like it's deeper?

    Feels deeper.

  • I've found coconut oil to be more helpful than lotion to keep itchy skin at bay.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

Oh. Maybe baby likes kicking that spot extra hard?

That's what I was maybe thinking, or that muscle is just stretched extra. Either way it hurts! Planning on asking my MW

  • Omg, thanks so much ladies for the tips! My entire belly has been itching like crazy for the past 2 weeks and I can't stop scratching. I do have coconut oil in a jar. You just scoop some out and slather it on after you shower? Coco butter and lotion are not cutting it for me. :/

Yup. Straight out of the jar. I actually apply it lately to my entire body. I do it while I'm inside the shower but not under the spray, give myself a final rinse once it's rubbed in, then hop out. I also add it to my baths along with Epsom salts. The salts help my muscles, but dry my skin. Word of caution though, it will make your tub/bath super slippery and you need some additional air dry time before putting clothes on so you don't get things greasy.

  • Right on top of belly... Almost between boobs is where my one MAJOR itch spot is at. I used to use my cocoa butter lotion, then the stretch mark lotion. Nothing helped with the itch. I just went back to my hempz lotion. I feel more moisturized at least. There is no sign of stretch marks or any coming where my itchy spot is at. It's just weird. lol

Oh, the joys of pregnancy. lol
  • @VexedMommy I just slathered some on and it's like a miracle cream!! The itch is completely gone, I wished that I posted about this earlier. I almost feel like my stretch marks got worse because I kept scratching them. Thank you so much!

  • Around my belly button, I was just telling my husband about this a few hours ago! Such a weird feeling, itchy, but also deeper like it's a sore muscle after the gym. Sigh. Always stretching.

I think I will try the coconut.
