Hormones!

Anyone still experiencing hormone shifts? One min I'm filled with excitement (similar to that anxious excitement prior to her arrival) and other times I'm over sensitive (which I'm not usually a sensitive person, lol). I'm also still sweating A LOT at night and having occassional cold sweats. LO will be 4 weeks Monday. Anyone else still experiencing these things? N in addition to this.. Anyone else still feel like they've been kicked in the vagina?

Re: Hormones!

  • 3.5 weeks and Yes to all! Although the reason I'm still sore is I just found out by looking in a mirror that my stitches healed my lady parts wrong and I now have a gaping hole in my labia.. gotta call my ob about that tomorrow. Eww.

OMG!! I hope it's an easy fix :-/ I'm still too scared to look down there.. But maybe I should :-/
  • Baby is 3 weeks 2 days and I'm having mood swings, actually more so now than when I was pregnant. Im wondering if my awesome sleep deprivation is the main culprit of the moods. Ive also been having hot flashes and waking up in cold sweats. I didn't tear or anything down there and have barely had any bleeding since pp day 3 so ino complaints there. A few more weeks of hormonal shedding and we might be feeling more like ourselves!
  • 7 weeks PP and I am still sweating! But not moody or sensitive anymore. That went away about 4 weeks PP. It does get better.
  • I am still sweaty ugh.

Thanks, me too! Took a lot of courage to not only look, but to stay down there long enough to poke around and really check it out. I really hope you don't have quite the surprise I did and that you're back to normal!
  • Yes to occasional night sweats. Does anyone still walk kind of funny due to vaginal delivery? I just feel weird down there...like things could just fall out but obviously they won't. I looked down there the other day and swear I could see a stitch sort of hanging out (other than that it's all fairly normal). OMG I'm dreading my 6 week appointment :-S

UGH me too!! What a hassle
  • My OB told me our bodies don't totally get back to normal for a year after delivery. Our hormones can be whack for awhile unfortunately.
  • I woke up with the sheets stuck to me because I was sweating so much, then an hour later have to throw on layers and change the temperature of the house since I get cold. I've been pretty emotional as well-- starting with crying after delivery and couldn't pee, so the nurse had to use a catheter on me. I told my husband if I couldn't pee on my own how could I expect to take care of the baby. It's gotten a lot better since then. I'm 10 days PP and feeling a lot better down there... but going to ask the OB if it will ever be anywhere close to normal.

Did u get a peri bottle? That's the only way I could pee early on and it really helped (actually just stopped using it a few days ago!!) also I held my bladder the other day n had to use bottle.. It hurt so bad! Lesson learned!
  • I'll be 3 weeks postpartum on Tuesday I've dealt with sweat until 2 weeks now I'm just dealing with uncomfortable stitches, I tore on the inside not out, and mood swings. The mood swings are definitely killer
  • A little over 4 weeks and this has been the easiest recovery for me in comparison to DS. I I feel totally normal. I've been working out so I attest my pelvic soreness to that. Night sweats are gone (had those bad until around 2 weeks PP) and I don't feel overly emotional. Hope you all start feeling back to *normal* soon.

  • 6 weeks:
    Cold sweats. Check.
Otherwise I think my hormones have pretty much mellowed out.
  • I'm 6 weeks PP on Thursday and I feel great. No more cold sweats. I can get somewhat emotional sometimes, but nothing crazy. No more bleeding or pain either. I've been working out for 2 weeks now. DH has a consultation for a vasectomy on Oct 16th and I'm looking forward to getting that ball rolling...
