Headache after giving birth !!

It's been a week I had my baby, and yesterday I got a headache it was tolerable, also today I been having one as well but it's just from one side of my head, this past days I haven't slept so much so I'm guessing lack of sleep could be causing it but also while in labor I had high blood pressure but I'm taking medication for that, should i go to the ER or wait until my appointment and get it checked there ?

    Did you have an epidural? Headaches can be a side effect. I would call, just to check in. Make sure you are getting plenty of fluids too!

    I wouldn't go to the ER. It's probably lack of sleep. If you're in doubt you should call your doctor before going in.

    Yes I did get an epidural, but if it keeps on like this I think I'll call my doctor. And yeah I think it's the sleep as well! Thanks girls ! :)

    I've had a postpartum headache for the past 3 weeks. My blood pressure is normal and I had a drug free birth, but my doctor said it's likely hormonal and that it should go away within three months (!!!). Ugh.

    I am also having headache. I had an epidural so I thought at first it was due to that but I was having the same headaches for a couple weeks before the birth. So I don't think it's the epidural and now 2 and a half weeks later they are almost gone. I still get them a little bit but not as bad. When I was pregnant my midwife said it was because the baby was pulling my spine out of place and I'm sure it will take time to fix itself. A chiropractic has helped.
