Discomfort with breech baby

Hey everyone,
I'm 34.1 weeks with a breech baby. This is my first pregnancy. I'm really hoping he will turn in the next few weeks so I won't have to have a c-section, but if I do, I know it's for the best.
Today I've notice a lot of discomfort and sharp twinges/pain "down there". I was just wondering if any of you who are breeched as well are experiencing the same type of discomfort.
I'm hoping I'm not getting a UTI. It kinda feels like that, but I get these twinges when he moves in a rolling fashion. It doesn't hurt to urinate. So I'm not sure that's it. It starts at the top of my uterus, then it really "jabs" me down there.

  • I'm 36 weeks with a breech baby as well. I am constantly getting kicked down there! I know your pain! It's definitely not comfortable and is a really sharp pain.

  • Good to know that's to be expected. Have they stared discussing plans of a c-section yet with you? My doc told me that I shouldn't "worry" about being breech till I've reached the 36th week and he hasn't turned. He said then we'll need to start talking about a c-section.
So, of course that's all I'm gonna be thinking about!
  • We are going to do an ultrasound next week and take a look at my fluid levels to check if I am a good candidate for ECV. The thought of ECV scares me after reading some horror stories, but my midwife is my MIL so I really trust her opinion. If she thinks it's worth a shot, I'll try it. I've been going to the chiropractor and trying some of the exercises on spinning babies but he hasn't budged. I had planned on a natural birth and have hired a photographer to capture our birth story so a C-section would be disappointing, but if that is what is best then obviously that's what we are going to do since having a healthy baby boy is our #1 concern.
  • I know I was a breech baby until I turned at 36 weeks. My mom said it was an incredibly weird experience because she watched it happen. There is still time, but if not then the baby will come out one way or another ;)
  • Very true. I want whatever is best for my baby.
