Anyone have different symptoms the second, third, fourth time around....

With my other three pregnancies, I was completely exhausted during the first trimester.  I couldn't keep my head up past 7:00.  This time around, I am tired but not crazy exhausted and I am so nauseous all the time.  I joked with my OB that maybe this time around is a girl instead of a boy.  I do have to say that I liked the exhaustion better than nausea!

Anyone else feeling very different this time around?

Re: Anyone have different symptoms the second, third, fourth time around....

  • I am the opposite. With my son, I wasn't very tired, but vomiting constantly! This one, I have nausea for sure, but have only thrown up about 4 times this week, so I'm calling it a win. But I could take a nap at any moment. I am dead tired. Maybe because I have a toddler at home, but it just is a constant feeling of fatigue. Cravings are very different too and my boobs are 100% more sore with this pregnancy. It is interesting to compare and of course my nurse leader and husband (two of the 4 people who know) are convinced it is a girl this time. I am still thinking boy, but we'll see!

  • I didn't cramp with DD at all. No nausea. Nothing! If the test hadn't told me I was pregnant, I wouldn't have believed it. This time i'm crampy, tired but can't sleep, and a little bit nauseated throughout the day. I'm also already bloated, and my system is rebelling...lol. It's so true that every pregnancy is different!

  • Nausea is much worse this time. So are constipation, bloating and sore boobs. Cravings are a bit different too, but for me that constantly changes anyway.

  • This is my 5th pregnancy( two losses) and a 5 year old and a 3 year old and this is the first time I have had morning sickness it is AWFUL!! I had to call out tonight I am an RN and there is no way I could of done a 12 hour shift on my feet.
  • Everything showed up sooner this time-- the tugging feelings, the sore boobs, the nausea, and the weird dreams. The nausea feels more like a hangover this time whereas with DS it felt like sea sickness. I don't have increased appetite with this one like I did before and I don't feel quite so pathetically tired.

  • THis may sound so strange, and I'm not really sure if I can blame pregnancy 100%, but my lips are soooooooo chapped and I can't seem to get them better. It's been like this for two weeks now and it's a miserable side effect. This never happened with my first two pregnancies. Has anyone else experienced this?
  • @Forever.6.18 Try drinking more water throughout the day. I think chapped lips can be a sign of need more water.

This pregnancy has definitely started off differently! At this point in my pregnancy I had already been to the ER once with dehydration due to constant puking. This time however, I haven't puked at all! Thank goodness. I feel nauseated but it's nowhere near as miserable as that.
  • This time around I'm a little nauseated but not much. I keep telling myself that is so much better than last time puking all day. I do have an increased appetite. Some days I don't feel tired at all and sometimes I'm exhausted. I find myself forgetting I'm pregnant. I have had a little lower back pain and cramping a few days but overall this is a breeze compared to last time. :)
  • I'm just joining you guys here so I'm still super early, but I'm just praying that I don't get the same level of morning sickness I had with my last two pregnancies.

  • @Forever.6. 18 I had this with my son..It was awful! I tried just about everything. I found that Aquaphor helped the most. Also Blistex advanced therapy helped too. And a ton of water. Mine went away probably around 12 weeks or so but then reared its ugly head around 25 weeks. Good luck. Hope those help
  • This pregnancy is very different from my last. I've been sick as hell with both, but last time I was exhausted and I would puke and then feel better. This time I'm not really tired, but nauseated 24 hours a day with dry heaving, and constipated. I didn't have any poop problems with DS.

  • I'm only four weeks along, but so far I'm way more crampy than I was with DD. I think morning sickness had already started by now when I was pregnant with her but I can't remember! I'm anxiously awaiting it to hit me :(

  • My pregnancy is pretty much identical to my first except that I'm having major wine cravings (I was repulsed by wine 1st pregnancy). It's probably because I have a toddler who is smack dab in the middle of the terrible twos.
