So in my extremely busy days at work, I've been googling different "tricks" about finding out the sex. I stumped upon the Chinese Sex Predictor and it is scarily 100% accurate so far with all of the people I have tested it with. It was even correct when I put in my moms information along with mine and my 2 brothers.
So if all holds true, the prediction is a little baby girl.....
Anyone else going crazy trying to figure out what you are having? It's my first so the excitement is driving me crazy! LOL
Haha it's got a 50% chance of being right either way, so that's pretty good odds It predicted girl for my last pregnancy and I've got a beautiful son. It's definitely fun to think about, though!!
Just as an aside: using "gender" instead of sex is a pretty hot button issue around these boards. I know what you meant by it, but there are many who are extremely offended when it's used the wrong way (which I understand). Gender = how you identify and sex = what you're physically assigned at birth.

Also, I know you are just excited, but the rational side of me would like to point out that it doesn't really make sense that everyone the same age as me and conceived in the same month would have the same sex baby, amirite?
Sorry for the gender/sex issue. I didn't know that it was something that offended people. Thank you for the heads up and I will edit accordingly.
In regards to the predictor, I am just having fun with it and loving testing it with others. Whether it is true or not, I'll know at 16-20 weeks.
I'll keep all of my fun, "time killing" things to myself next time because I don't want to offend, upset, or even get attacked.
Happy and Healthy pregnancy everyone!
It's all good, no big deal at all. I just wanted to end the whole "sex vs. gender" thing before it even got started. Trust me, it can get NASTY! Nobody is attacking, just informing. Post whatever you want!
I tried it for my last pregnancy and it was correct, but tried for my best friend who was pregnant the same time and it was wrong.
Either way it says boy again for me I don't care either way but I love these time-passing sex guesses!
I had a different friend who found out the sex through a blood draw during genetic testing. Has anyone else heard of this?
Yup, it's called cell-free DNA testing and I had it done last pregnancy. The primary purpose is to screen for genetic abnormalities but you can also choose to find out the sex at the same time. Typically insurance only covers this testing if you're AMA (over 35) or have a previous pregnancy with genetic issues. They will NOT test solely to find out the sex of the baby.
That being said, I am not AMA and have no history of genetic issues in my family, but my OB offers testing as standard practice to all patients. We had to pay out of pocket but we'll be doing it again this time around.
The blood draw we did was called the Harmony test. It screened for a ton of things. We were are risk for heart defects and whatnot so I got the test done to better prepare myself. It was like $900! Aaaaah
@MrsPrice519 - we got the Panorama screening (same thing as Harmony, just offered by a different company). They subsidize the charge if (when) your insurance company rejects the cost. We paid $120 out of pocket.
It's such a scam, though. We got a letter from our insurance company explaining they rejected the cost of the screening and that we'd be liable for over $11,000! I just about fell off my chair. I called the company that does the screening directly and expressed my dismay, and the customer service rep just laughed and said "honey that's just what we try to get the insurance company to pay. If they reject it you'll only be charged $120."
So yeah, if you're wondering why insurance costs are rising...there ya go.
It was right with my first (girl) and according to this we'll have another girl. We shall seeeee!
edited to say: boo....why isn't my ticker working!?
Copy just the "img src" address (starting with http and ending in .png) part of your ticker and insert it as an image using the little image insert icon.
its all in fun and games guessing the sex of babies.. and at the beginning of everyone who has been pregnant I've had a guess as to what sex the baby will be (and hey 50/50 chance of being right) the last couple I've predicted as boys and have been right...
With the Chinese gender predictor it says boy for me and my guess is boy... everyone else in my family (at the moment) guess girl at this point but I think that's because I have 7 nephews :P
at the end of the day all I want is a happy healthy baby and will be happy with either sex (and I don't think I will find out the sex and keep it a surprise until the end)
I enjoy guessing based on my "feelings" and I do slightly better than 50%, but ultimately the rest of it is just silly. I'm patient enough to wait a few months.
With my first, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt from day one he would be a boy. This one I am like 80% feeling boy, but leaning more and more towards girl each day.
FWIW, the Chinese predictor says boy for this nugget, but said my son would be a girl.
I had a dream the other day about having a boy...the Chinese predictor says boy. DH and Mom's "intuition" says girl. Guess we will find out May 1st (ish)! Hope their intuition isn't better than mine!!
I have used it with mt first child and it was right about me having a boy. I used it again and it said we are having a girl. Personally I would rather have another boy so I am hoping it is wrong.
I did this on my first pregnancy (just for fun) and it told me I was having a boy. Haha, nope. I had a girl. Either way, I'm open to whatever gender. I would love to have another girl though because I still have a bunch of girl clothes I would like to reuse.
(Me) 30 & (DH) 32 {Together 11 years - Married 04.17.15}
We conceived on my birthday so I'm not sure if I was still 22 or 23 haha one tells me boy the other tells me girl. No help haha we will just have to see
It was correct last time and predicted a girl. This time it is giving me 50/50 odds...lol. I'm having dreams of it being a boy though this time. Last time I had dreams of it being a girl with blond hair and blue eyes (both of us are brunette with green and hazel eyes) even though both of us preferred a boy first. I thought I was crazy, but here she is with blond curly hair and stark blue eyes! I'm thinking it's a boy this time....but I don't care either way really
They also sell these sex predictor urine kits....lol. I never did one, but i've had friends do them. You know, if you really want to pass the time!
Last pregnancy it said boy as did nearly all the old wives tales but I had a girl. This one the chart says girl it's too early for owt yet but we'll see what they say and then what baby says. Really hoping for a boy this time!
I think it's pretty obvious it's just for fun. I'm seeing a lot of nasty comments on here tonight, people being made to feel bad for literally anything they post! Not sure I like it

I don't believe that Chinese predictor thing for a second. I tried some of my friends dates and stuff and they were wrong. Tried my moms info for me and my sister and they were wrong also..... I'm not sure if we conceived in August or September since sperm can live in there for a few days. Soooooo according to if we conceived in August, then it says boy, if we conceived in September then it says girl. I have a strong gut feeling from the very beginning that it will be a girl. Will have to wait until December for the anatomy scan.

It predicted DS correctly. It's telling me this one is a boy as well. We'll see.
