I was really bloated, gained about 5lbs, and then just within the past 3 days the bloating has done significantly down and I've already lost 4 of those pounds. Water retention is no joke!
I started this pregnancy at 123 and am now 125. And it is NOT all water for me, not at all. Although some of it is boob... ha!
Edit to add: at 5'6'', I was on the lower end of my healthy weight range, so I'm kind of having to suck it up and be OK with gaining sooner. It's gonna happen sooner or later. But I am STRUGGLING with this... I've lost 115 pounds and watching the scale go UP is nooot easy.
Yeah.... Some is water weight, some from the fact that I was dieting right before my BFP, some from my boobs, I'm sure. Trying not to let it bother me, I just hope it levels off...
Yes but I think a lot is just water retention, and that since I've found out I haven't been the best at watching what I'm eating. After this weekend (we're away at the beach) I'm going to really get back on track of eating well and keep things under control.
I gained a couple of pounds, but this morning I weighed myself and lost the weight, I am now back down. I feel less bloated today, so yeah, I guess it was just water weight.
My dr actually explained the weight gain perfectly to me.
on average:
First 20 weeks - 1/2 lb a week
Last 20 weeks - 1lb a week
Again, these are just average weight gains but she said this is healthy and normal. I'm 7w5d and I've gained 2.5lbs so I'm right on track with her game plan.
However, after the oreos, rice crispie treats, and M&M's that I just ate, the scale might hate me tomorrow.
I have gained 7 lbs and I am 8 weeks tomorrow. I haven't gained any weight in the past week, so that is good, but I feel so bloated all the time and none of my dress pants for work are fitting anymore.
So far I haven't gained anything yet but I just got the BFP 2 days ago. I am so bloated but I want to eat. haha I'm sure that will all start to change soon enough though. I am a 1st time mom so this is all so new to me.
I.m not the best at keeping track of weight numbers, but I can TELL I've gained weight. I was actually doing pretty good with getting rid of my "food baby" tummy right before I got preggo. Then, in the last week I seemed to have super ballooned up--none of my clothes look very flattering any more and I feel chunky. So depressing. I really hope it's all the water I have been chugging down. I've even been trying to watch my calories so I don't go too overboard, and have been eating smaller, more frequent meals instead of pigging out 2-3 times a day.
My boobs feel like they have swollen a bit but I can still fit into my bras.
I hope the real baby belly doesn't wait too long to come in, so at least it's obvious why I've been gaining. Can't wait to show off my baby belly with some maternity clothes, versus the jiggly mid-section I'm trying to hide now!
