Big bump at 6 weeks and stretch marks

Hi I'm pregnant with my first and I'm only 6weeks and 2 days if worked out from my last period however I already have a bump showing and my boobs are huge and are starting to get stretch marks on them. Is anyone else getting this yet? Making me nervous.

  • Your body is going to start retaining fluid to support that baby and that's totally normal and common. The uterus doesn't grow enough to extend above the pelvis until further along. When it does, it will feel somewhat firm rather than squishy. The stretch marks. Oh lawd, mine never went away the first time.

  • Bloat is real! Your digestion slows down during pregnancy and can definitely contribute to the fake bump ;) I have it too, which isn't great for hiding pregnancy at work since the bloat is ridiculous. Water, fruits and veges!

  • I have some pretty severe bloat but definitely not showing. My boobs are also huge and I'm prone to stretch marks thanks to my awesome genes but so far nothing has changed there, thankfully! Your bloat will likely go away and a few weeks after that you'll actually start showing a bump from the size of you baby, not just gas.
  • Stretch marks=part of the beauty of pregnancy. Woohoo!

  • Since my original post was reported I'll say it this way.... You are bloated and the stretch marks have to be from a previous weight loss/gain. Your baby is the size of a blueberry and still behind the pubic bone.
  • @QueenWaldorf5 that beauteous gif was reported? What has the bump become??
  • Blump is my new favorite word.

I'm definitely sporting a blump these days and it makes wearing pants quite an effort without any of the fun of an actual baby bump.

  • It's bloating! I have it to and look like 20 weeks pregnant it gets worse at night! My boobs are bigger too. It's just getting me excited for when my bump appears eventually
  • You need to poop. It's not possible for the blump to be the baby at this point.

Stretch marks happen when your skin starts to stretch...it doesn't HAVE to be from a previous weight loss, or weight gain. Just sayin...
  • I agree with many of the other PPs. Bloat sucks (and I'm totally adding "blump" to my vocab). As far as stretch marks go, I know keeping your skin well-hydrated helps! Lots of water and healthy diet when possible. Ask your doc and see if a fish oil supplement is ok for you, too! It's great for hair and skin, amongst other things. I know a few moms that swear by using cocoa butter lotion on their bumps during pregnancy. I'm going to start doing the same!

But in this particular case the stretch marks are not caused by stretching of skin because of a bump. Because their isn't a bump yet.

    See what I did there?

She said the stretch marks are on her breasts. Seems legit to me.
