Hand pump vs electric

I have the medela hand pump & electric pump. Why can't I ever get any milk when using the hand pump? I use the electric pump all the time but out of convenience I would like to use hand pump sometimes. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I doing something wrong?

    I never get anything out with the manual either. I have the same pump and it's so frustrating because I can "milk" myself better than what the manual pump does. It's ridiculous.

    I'm the opposite, I love my hand pump way better than the electric one. Something about a machine "sucking" at my boobs feels weird, so I get milk shy and nothing comes out haha

    I have to manually massage and get my milk to let down then use the hand pump to get a good amount out, but I prefer the electric becuase of its efficiency.

    Same here i went through 3 electrics then a manual and finally got it right. I use the medela manual pump.
