Extremely painful sex 6weeks pp?

Had sex for the first time after the green light from my doctor (was told everything has healed) and it felt like knives it hurt so bad. We used lube but had to stop after one minute. I am 6 weeks post partum, breast feeding and have also had some light bleeding the last couple days (before sex). Has anyone experienced this?? I had a successful vaginal delivery and had some internal tearing so I got a couple stitches but I feel almost 100% otherwise.

I had a c section but I can relate. Same feeling except I'd add burning in front of knives lol felt like hot stabbing knives the first 3 times, even with lube. It's getting better (we tried immediately at 6 weeks as well), I'm 8 weeks pp on Thursday. Hang in there it will get better, get creative with positions too!

Breastfeeding makes you extra dry down there. I'd also consider a yeast infection, which was my problem. Otherwise, try again, have a drink, use lots of lube and go slow.

I got the green light last week at my appt but have been terrified of trying. DH is waiting patiently, lol. Gotta get some lube...

Yep! I had a c-section but I was in serious amounts of pain. I couldn't believe it!! It's getting better and I'm just past 7weeks pp. Lube and go slow and be patient.

Same here we just tried at 10 weeks pp and it was really painful even the second time.. Now I am a little nervious about the third time but I hope is better. I had a CSection.

I had a vaginal birth. Had sex at 5 weeks pp and are 10 weeks pp currently. We've had sex 4 times since the first. It still hurts a little going in but once everything really gets started feels great like it did before birth I think even better. We haven't had the need to use any lube.

we first tried at 7 weeks pp. hurt too bad aND we had to stop... now at 10 weeks pp it hurts at first, but after you get going it feels great. I had a vaginal birth with quite a bit of internal tearing. just take it slow. it will get better.

I'm 10 weeks PP and still haven't done it. I'm terrified. I'm using the excuse of letting my BC cycle through my body before we try, it gave me an extra 4 weeks.

Followed the advice of some of you and just wanted to say it got better. Take it slow and lots of lube for those that have yet to try it (probably could of waited a bit longer than 6weeks pp) Good luck!

We did it at 7 weeks and it was very painful. We haven't tried again, but I think DH would like that to change. I am 10 weeks PP now. I'm kinda scared. We used lube but it didn't help...

For those that haven't tried it yet: I was super nervous about it, too, and expected it to hurt a lot... And even though I never felt aroused (even after we began), it somehow felt great! (though different), and it allowed me to orgasm for the first time in six months.
