Just came from doctor... Now bleeding

Just came from 39 week appointment. Everything looks good, dr did a cervical check to check for dialation and came home. Just went to bathroom and was bleeding and a chunk was in toilet. Called my dr and she said it was from exam and was probably the bloody show and it was normal. She told me since I sounded nervous to head over to labor and delivery to be monitored and reassured. Has anyone else bleed or lost their mucus plug after an exam??

    Yup. After every check I would bleed a little for a day or two. Nothing to worry about.
    But if it's like a mid/heavy period bleeding with red blood I would have it checked out.
    Or maybe your plug got loose.

    I bled for two days after my last exam. I got rechecked today (a week later) and I still have a hard and high cervix.

    I bled after my cervical checks at 36 and 38 weeks. After my 36-week check I had brown spotting for 2-3 days. After my 38-week appointment it was bright red spotting for 1-2 days, then a day of brown spotting. OB said it was normal and not to be concerned unless I was soaking through a pad.

    I lost my mucus plug at 38-1/2 weeks (no blood, just a lot of mucusy discharge at once), and my water broke that night.

    Yep. This happened to me today as well. The doctors said to call if it doesn't stop.

    Yes, I lost my MP on Tuesday after my exam, I was 37w 4d....still pregnant now.

    I bled after my first exam for 2 days (really light bleeding) but not after subsequent exams. I was 36w4d then.....and I'm 38w3d now (and still pregnant)

    Thanks Ladies!!!  :)  Reassured by your posts and Doctor.  :)  Just a little dull brown spotting now but nothing like when I first came back from Doctor... it just caught me off guard and I just feel like I am a nervous wreck these last few weeks.... Thanks again for all of your help! :)

    I spotted after the 2 exams I had done in hospital. Earlier on (36 then 38w) but never any chunks of blood. This is just due to the stimulation though. And the exam could very well have caused you to lose your plug.

    I'm now 39w 4d and lost bits of the plug last evening and the rest I believe is out today. Been severely cramping since..... Could mean something.. Could mean nothing :/
