August 2015 Moms

A wonderful resource

I can't say enough about how you ladies have gotten me through the past 10+ months of pregnancy and now new motherhood. I am so truly thankful...

However, when you can't see people face to face it takes a long time to build relationships. Wouldn't it be nice to meet in person? If only..

My point: there's a group in my city called New Moms Coffee and I started going recently. It's for moms of newborns-6 months and it's just a few hours offered 3 days a week. Come as you are, no judgements. I can't tell you how much I've benefitted from going and just hearing other mom's stories/issues, telling my own and just feeling SO validated and encouraged from it! I highly recommend, if you have any mom groups or just know other new moms, to try to get together with them even just once a week or every other to chat. It has been a huge help for my mental health and lifted a big burden off of DH as my usual sounding board. It really has helped me keep my sanity and make me feel like I'm normal and will get through this. Just a PSA but really ladies, try it out, you will never know until you try!

  • The hospital I delivered at offers breastfeeding and a mommy and me support group every thursday. Keeps me semi-sane and the ladies seem nice, haven't talked to them much... everyone's still in the shy stage but it will be nice to meet some new friends I can relate to.
