Early testing

hi everyone so my DH and I are TTC after 2 miscarriages earlier this year. Today is the 5th day before my missed period so I might be able to find out early if I test. I'm hesitant to know early due to my previous MC's. I found out super early with my last MC and it made it even worse. The only reason I want to find out early is so I can start retaking my progesterone pills ASAP. It's hard to explain (maybe some of you can relate) but I'm almost scared to take a pregnancy test because the moment I find out, I will spend every waking moment fearing that I will MC again. Anyone been in my position? Should I test or wait?!?!?

    I'm sorry for your losses.

    I would wait until your period is due. Are you temping/charting?

    Yes we have been which is why testing early is more tempting but I agree, maybe I should wait...

    I also agree with waiting till your period is due. Sorry for your losses.

    The only Reason why I disagree is that having multiple MCs and being able to take progesterone or work with your doctor on a plan is important. If you have three, I believe your insurance may cover a fertility specialist. I do hope that you don't have to experience another one though! I know exactly how you feel about the stress. I am in your position and I test early. Do what feels right and good luck!

    I agree to this 100%. I've also had two MC's this year and plan to continue to test as early as possible so that I can have evidence that getting pregnant is not the issue, but keeping the pregnancy is. My OB said that if another one happens, he has a gameplan for what we can do next, and I'd hate to miss a pregnancy and have to continue to wait to find out if there is a problem. My last BFP was there on 7DPO. HCG bloodwork showed a very slow progression and then dropped almost instantly one day. It's good to have that type of information.

    I'm sorry for your losses. I don't have experience with MCs, but wanted to chime in and say PPs logic about testing early makes sense to me. The more data the better. Best of luck.

    I am in the Wait-Until-Your-Expected-Period Camp. Basically it won't change how pregnant you are (if you are) and after that it's all luck of the draw.

    So basically, if you want to test then go ahead. If you feel like you couldn't handle the results & flip out, wait.

    Do you have. Known progesterone issue? Maybe you should start getting tested 7 dpo, and go from there.

    Thanks for all the advice ladies! I decided to test early I'm now 4 days before missed period and it looks like I'm going to remain in this group for a little bit longer... Best of luck to everyone!
