I feel like a loser

i am 24w1d and I am going off work next week for sick leave.. I feel like a failure because I cannot physically work any longer. my bp is high doc just put me on meds, I have dizzy spells where I fall, I am so tired I can't catch up enough on sleep..
I work in health care, I am a cca or cna in the states and it's just getting to hard on my body ..
anyone else been feeling similar ?

I don't know why you should feel bad about it. Everyone's pregnancy is different and obviously you are experiencing some health challenges. Your priority should be the health of you and your baby and it sounds like that's what you are paying attention to. I'm glad you have the option to take off.

I'm a nurse and I'm struggling too. Not sure how I'm going to make it all the way to the end but I don't have much of a choice, if I don't work we can't pay our bills

I'm a nurse and I manage a day center for alzheimers patients. My hips have been hurting me so bad I've often sat and wondered exactly how long I'm going to be able to manage. You're definitely not a loser, the struggle is super real for some.

Dude. Cut yourself some slack. There's no need to be a super hero pregnant mom. Your body (and your doctor for that matter) is telling you to take it easy, the winner at the end will be you and a healthy baby. That's all that matters.

We are too hard on ourselves. I am a hairdresser and mom to a five year old. I was also diagnosed with Sarcoidosis the week after I found out I was pregnant. I am always beating myself up about needing to fit in more haircuts, and keep the house clean, and get ready for baby, but this pregnancy is kicking my butt. It is 100 times harder then my 1st pregnancy. We need to keep it in our heads that this too shall pass. It's such a short time in the grand scheme of things and our number one job is to keep ourselves and baby safe and healthy. We will one day be the sole owners of our bodies again and then we can kick some butt!!!!

I am a cna as well and have been on light duty for about 6 weeks now. I cramp alot and have bad pubic bone pain. After 90 days on light duty I will have to go on early maturnity leave. With my first pregnancy the only problem I had was pubic bone pain and I wasn't working at the time. So this time around its alot harder.

thanks everyone. I feel a lot better about going off. I just wish I could push through a few extra weeks but I do not want to over work myself. and there is a bit of lifting laundry hampers, bending, pulling, standing, it's hard.

I was a CNA with my first pregnancy and it kicked my butt!!! It is hard work. I lived in AZ so our census dropped dramatically in the summer (August baby) so I had myself down for first cancel- if they were over staffed- I also helped with lighter duty positions like nurse secretary and front desk when there was a need. I didn't have to actually work all that much and then I left entirely at 38 weeks. But any day I worked I'd get home and crash and I was always so sore. It wouldn't have taken much more to put me out of commission much sooner, so I feel you. Do what you need to do mama and consider yourself blessed that you are able to!

I'm 24 Wks, and last pregnancy I quit at 7m. I'd quit now if I was still working. I'm 60" tall-5 ft. I have only gained 9 lbs. and I'm 50" inches around! Last pregnancy at 9m I was 60" around. I'm done. And I'm ok with that. I do feel bad when my dd wants to go to the park and I can't grocery shop and go to the park in the same day. But, it will be over very soon! So don't sweat it. Take a break you deserve it!

You're not alone. I feel the same, though I work in a cubicle for the most part. If I did ANY job that I was required to be on my feet I may be in the same boat as you. I've lost my vision 2 different times, and get weak and almost pass out, and that's just while sitting. This seriously concerned me and I felt alone until my OB nurse said she had the same symptoms... I would just relax and take care of you and your baby.

You are not a loser. I'm a teacher and I find myself sitting more and more already. Last time I was able to make to 38 weeks working. Keeping up with the gym has helped me immensely but still its hard. My doctor has told me that if they give me crap he will write a note. "I'm tired of these principals thinking you girls can just keep going like machines." Yes that is a direct quote.

Don't feel like that. You are doing what you need to to care for you and your little one. I too went out earlier than this due to extreme fatigue and dizzy spells. I work as a PT in a sub acute center so it required a lot of physical activity. What I am saying it's easy to feel that way but be kind to yourself and consider that this is being done to keep your little one safe

Please don't be so hard on yourself! I also felt like that and I got signed off with stress at 5 months! I have two alcoholic bosses and have a heavy workload as a lawyer :-( I went back for two weeks but after one of the bosses berating me in a drunken state last week I am considering getting signed off again! I'm worried how I will pay the bills too as my boyfriend is so unsupportive but baby is gonna come first! Hope your ok Xx

I work xray in a major trauma center. I am lucky to work weekend package ( 2 days a week for 12 hours) . My first pregnancy was awful. I had hyperemesis and would get sick between patients. Thankfully this time has been easier. Do what you need to do for your health. As medical workers, we often put ourselves last. Its time to put you first. It will be ok. Your coworkers will deal. Take care of you.

I'm a CNA, too. Our hospital "doesn't allow light duty" so I did not listen to my doctor and take it easy when I started having issues last pregnancy. I ended up on bed rest with a 1.25cm tear at the edge of my placenta and bleeding. So, moral of the story: listen to your doctor and don't push it.

I don't have a fancy job. I'm a waitress I used to work 6 days a week most of those were all day shifts. I've cut back to 3/4 days . I just couldn't handle it anymore- my blood pressure was on the rise, I was lifting things I shouldn't have been...
My doctor doesn't even want me to be working as much as I am now.

You gotta do what's best for you and baby. Good luck
