Re: in home doppler, when can you find heartbeat?

  • With my DD I heard hers at 9 weeks, but they had to push down quite a bit to get to it. It was much easier to find and hear by 10 weeks though.

  • I have a Doppler at home and was able to hear the hb at 10 weeks, but it did take a while to find it.
  • 9-10 weeks but it takes a lot of time and patience to find it!

  • Depends on your size too. For some moms it may be 12-14 weeks before they can find the heartbeat with a home doppler.

  • I could hear both of my boys at 9ish weeks BUT I stopped using my Doppler shortly after that because I could never find the heart beats.. Turns out both placentas were in the front
  • I found my DS around 9 weeks and a few days. I am absolutely a Doppler-a-holic. Best sound/feeling ever to an anxious mama. (Disclaimer: I realize Dopplers are not for everyone and the anxiety of NOT finding a heartbeat can be awful...to each their own).

  • Most women cannot hear the HB with a home doppler until after 12 weeks, when the uterus has popped out of the pelvis.
