Well that was a fail ....

So I attempted to go grocery shopping with my LO this morning. I had just fed her for about 45 min got ready and "had" until 12:15 which was the 2 hr mark from beginning of last feed. We got to the store and I had enough time to get through produce isle before she started screaming! Ugh. Wouldn't take a pacifier. So I was the lady in the grocery store with the crying baby struggling to check out and get out as fast as I could. The sweet lady helping me with my groceries was like..."where's her bottle?".... /:) didn't want to get into the whole "I only breastfeed etc... What a fail. It's 12:40 and still haven't had any food today sheesh

  • I can totally sympathize with you because this just happened to me this morning! I dropped DS1 off at preschool raced home fed DS2, ran over to grocery store and all hell broke loose mid way thru the shopping. He was screaming at the top of his lungs as I flew aisle to aisle tossing things in, sweating like crazy and smelling like disgusting maple syrup (thank you fenugreek). Made it to checkout line, still screaming. Paid and as soon as that was done he was out like a light. I also got a lot of nasty stares. I guess people thought I should leave but this just took some serious effort and I was not about to leave haha, time is precious! If I wasn't breastfeeding i think I would down a half bottle of wine right about now- I feel ya!

Yep. She was quiet as soon as I started walking out of the store. I guess it happens. Lol.
  • Yep. I was wearing her.

Mine did this yesterday at my obgyn visit. She also took 3 big $hits in a matter of 20 mins. I laughed about it, but I died a few times in my head.

@jlsweets : off topic but does fenugreek work for milk productions? Also, how do you take it?

Mine seems to scream and fuss all the time. I used to never go anywhere. Now I make no apologies. Yep I'm the one with the crying baby.

I am at the point where I'm scared to leave the house she is so fussy all the time. You never know when she will scream again. I feel like I have a ticking time numb sometimes. Haha. Hopefully someday she will either stop or I will get to the point where I can feel comfortable with being the lady with the crying baby. How it happens soon
  • Mine freaked out in Target today. I had to take her out of her car seat and walk around with her in one arm while pushing my cart with the other. She stopped fussing as soon as I put her back in her car seat to leave. Then she just smiled at me. I still have no idea why she was crying in the first place!

You will! I am just coping with the fact that she fusses and I have things to do. She also knocks out after about 15 mins of screaming so that Helps. Ha!

Mine hardly ever has a reason for crying. Ha!

Yep has definitely helped. I pretty much EBF but wanted to started pumping a couple times a day to start freezer stash. I've double what I'm getting from pumping sessions now. I take the pill 3x a day, 3at each time so 9 pills total. The only thing I hate is how I smell it on my skin, makes me gag! Ha so don't know how much longer I'll last.

  • Also off topic- is the sweating a BFing thing or a PP thing? I don't remember it with my boys, but I sweat non stop now :(
  • The sweating is unreal! I definitely didn't have this much with my son either. I'm still waking up with night sweats.

  • Yep. I fed DD all morning. Got to GAP and she started screaming so I walked around the store with my boob hanging out. And she still screamed all the way home like she hadn't eaten in days.

Oh my god. The night sweats!! For my first wake up of the night I'm drenched. Then I freeze the rest of the night!!

@jlsweets what strength are the pills you're taking? I was told to take up to 3000mg per day but contemplating taking more.
  • @kettlekitten I'm taking 600mg (9 daily). I went off kelly mom recommendation.

I take fenugreek in pill form but u can also get it in a liquid form. Mother's milk tea is also super helpful. I've been taking both and have been noticing a difference!

I was expecting it to work right away but I didn't notice a change until about 10 days in and being consistent with taking it. Good luck I hope it helps!

  • Oh ok @jlsweets - good to know - I really didn't give it enough time. Thanks for the heads up.

And sorry all for the thread hijack!
  • Just wanted to say thank goodness for grocery delivery. They just started it in my area and it has been a lifesaver. I tried to take DD1 to the park up the street over the weekend and put LO in her car seat and into the stroller. She started screaming halfway down the block right in front of a yard full of people having a party. I ended up having to take her out of the stroller and carry her the rest of the way. She didn't need anything, just wanted held I guess.
