Hey y'all! I've seen a few threads mention exercising, and was curious if there would be interest in a daily exercise check in? I thought it might be a fun way to stay accountable, motivated, and to share workout tips, and/or videos? Or to even share new maternity workout gear that you've found? Just whatever really with fitness and staying active as the focus :) It's totally fine if you guys don't want to participate....it was just a thought!

Today I chose to do a "Prenatal Pilates" video from YouTube.com: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWRGsg5xMLQ I definitely wasn't as graceful as the woman in the video...lol....and my legs were shaking like crazy, but I got it done!

  • On the days I don't teach I do an exercise DVD. I know this is cheesy and I am showing my age, but today I will be doing a GILAD Bodies in Motion DVD.

  • Love this!

Today I did Insanity Max Plyo + some additional arm weights and leg lifts on the mat. I've also been doing more ab crunches. My back can be vicious at times, and since pregnancy can cause flare ups, I want to strengthen my abs while I still can.

I'm supposed to run tomorrow and Friday is my rest day, but after working out three days in a row, my body feels really sluggish. I think I may need to adjust to working out Mon,Tues,Wed then Fri,Sat.
  • I walk a lot. I try to do at least a mile a day on the weekdays and then more on the weekends. I also play tennis once a week.

  • I had intentions of hiking this morning and then bed and kitty snuggles happened. I did realize I had several early mornings in a row (and I'm a night owl, and extra trouble sleeping in the heat) so tomorrow. I'll do something tonight though!
  • I set my calendar to jog three mornings a week and do Wii Fit 3 days a week (anytime). So far I've stuck with it for two whole days :).

Guess I'll go do the Wii Fit right now :)

  • Today was a fail, but nausea hit me pretty hard today. Now all I want to do is sleep. Of course I can't. :)

Probably going to try and get some walking in tomorrow at work. We have a gym in the office so I can just jump on the treadmill a little bit during lunch.
  • I was exhausted today but I did leg day. Barbell front and back squats/deadlifts/ leg kick backs, curtesy lunges/ barbell hip thrusts/ Russian lunges ect writing that all out wore me out lol. Finished with abs. I usually run 1-3 miles too but not today.

Yay - I've been meaning to post and see if there was interest in a fitness check-in too!

I was felling good today, so I treadmill walked at incline 5 for 25 minutes. Then, I did some leg exercises - squats, calf raises, some exercise ball pull-ins, and then some chest presses.

I'm never sure exactly which exercises are ok to do during pregnancy, so I'm just letting my body tell me if it's angry for now.

  • I don't think there are really any restrictions till the 2nd trimester. Which is that you cannot do anything that has you lay flat on your back. There is also a restriction on how high you can get your heart rate but I'm not sure when that starts exactly. I want to say 2nd trimester, and it is nothing above 140-160bpm?? Someone correct me if you know specifics please....

  • I was doing great until the all-day nausea kicked in about 3 days ago... Totally zapping my workout routine.
  • This is great.  :)  I try to do something every day.  This morning I walked around my very hilly neighborhood (west Austin heading out toward hill country) for 45 minutes.  Tonight, H and I are planning to go to the gym to do arms.

  • Yes I'm super on board for a daily exercise check-in. I'm really disappointed in myself as I got really into weightlifting this past year and I must say, it really transformed my body. Ever since the BFP, though, for some reason I've completely slacked on the lifting. There is no reason NOT to lift, and quite honestly, keeping up my strength will help with delivery and postpartum recovery. I need some accountability, I guess is what I'm saying.

  • I love this idea. I keep telling myself "I will not gain 60 pounds this time. i will NOT gain 60 pounds this time."
  • I started a new thread for today ladies!
