I'm so sorry! A sick baby can't be any fun!!! I don't have any advice on that one bc luckily we haven't had to deal with it yet. But I'm hoping she feels better soon!!!
Thank you! I feel so sad and maybe it's irrational, but I just feel like a bad mom that she's sick so young. It breaks my heart, and I wish I had somehow prevented it.
Mine just had a cold. So sad. A humidifier in her room seems to help the congestion. And Nose Frida (yuck!)
That's exactly what we're doing along with saline. It really seems to be helping! I remember being so grossed out by the Nose Frida pre-baby. Now? That thing is amazing. Haha
Thank you for weighing in... I'm glad I'm not alone but hate that either of our babies have gotten sick!
Yep, a cold is circulating through our house. My DH had it, 2 yr got it and now the baby. Hopefully our 5 yr old and I can stay healthy. I was using the hospital bulb syringe at 2 AM so the poor little guy could breathe through his nose to nurse. NO mommy guilt. They will get sick, it happens. Give yourself a break on that one.
my LO had a cold at 2 weeks ! i used saline solution then sucked it out. i Would use it before bed and in the morning. hes a bit congested now so if it gets any worse ill use it again. it works great!
My LO just got over a cold. Big brother gave it to him. It lingered about a week. Lots of love and nursing did the trick. I tried to keep it light by teasing him about his boogy nose
My LO just got over her cold, she's 3mo. It lasted maybe only a day and a half. Along with nursing her frequently I had also heard to put a few drops of my milk in her nose, just like you would do with saline drops. I only did it once, I was a little scared! Has anyone done that before, did it work? And also, we use a bulb syringe to suck boogies out. I was wondering if that could do any damage to her inner nostrils? I should probably just pick up a nose Frida, it shouldn't cause any damage should it? Or am I just worrying too much?!
By God's grace my son hasn't gotten a cold! He's not allowed to get sick because his open heart surgery is scheduled for the 30th!
But I did read that if you have one of those sensory lamp things you can put like a tsp of water in and I think it was maybe a tbsp of vapor rub in it. It works wonders according to some of my friends! You could look up the actual measurements on pintrest though just to be sure lol.
Also, not to be that person, but I have been reading all over the place about a virus that they've found that acts like a cold but isn't. :O
My four month has been sick a week. Now he's gotten an ear infection and with daddyv being sick too, I'm ready to leave for Cuba LOL. 2 big babies, but I love them.
My lo has allergies like i do Saline drops and the nose frida have worked well. Also i got baby vicks and put it on his feet with socks on to help with congestion
He got a cold 3 days into daycare. We are going on 5 weeks of being congested and the Dr. told us today that he has a double ear infection. I'm ready to quit my job to stay home so he can be healthy again
I'm happy to report that our girl is better after 12 days of a cold. The nose frida, saline 4x per day, cool air humidifier, and sleeping in her Rock N Play helped a lot, but it was still HARD on all of us!
Sending love to all the other sick LOs and mama's!
My LO has a runny nose, she is always congested as it is! I keep using saline spray and trying to get her to sit up as much as possible, good thing she likes it!, to stop fluid build up. I'm so worried it'll cause an ear infection!

I tried breastmilk when i was out and had forgotten her saline spray, it did work and i would do it again! Breastmilk is harmless because if it ends up in her throat, well it's just milk
The bulb syringe i got has a warning not to use it more than 5 times a day and not to put it deep in the nostril cause it might damage their membrane.
Maybe i don't know how to use it cause i rarely get anything out with it!
Her cold didn't last long at all so I think I would use my milk again, too. And with the bulb syringe, I don't think I'm using it correctly either because it takes quite a few tries to get anything out- that's why I was worried about it damaging. Thanks @mars8k !
