Signs baby is facing down

I have had a lot of changes during the past couple of days and I'm wondering if they're related to him moving. I go in two days to an appt to find out for sure, but my curiosity has taken over :)

What did you feel/see once your baby was head down?

Re: Signs baby is facing down

  • I agree with PP I never felt anything different at all. The only reason I knew was my doctor told me...

  • Same for me. Actually, I was convinced I had a head in my ribs when it was actually a butt. One if my twins has been head down since 24 weeks but the other didn't flip until sometime around 28 weeks. I didn't feel any different--only found out during u/s

Somebody on here told me a few weeks ago that you can find where the head is when baby gets hiccups. If you feel the rhythmic twitches down low it means baby's head is down. Last week I had an appointment and they confirmed that my baby is indeed head down.
I'd never heard about that before!

Edit: the hiccups theory has actually been disputed on the thread I'm referring to (I just noticed) so take it with a pinch of salt, but it was true for me.
  • I suspected my LO was head down because I felt her hiccups really low. My OB confirmed at my appointment yesterday.

Here's an article from Livestrong that has different ways of determining your baby's position, may it will help: https://www.livestrong.com/article/184741-how-can-i-tell-what-position-my-unborn-baby-is-in/
