Motorola Baby Monitor on Groupon (no temp tho...necessary?)

https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-motorola-wireless-mbp41-color-video-baby-monitor

Pretty darn good one too, I think!

We were going to get the MBP36S since it had temperature too, but for $180 on Amazon vs. $110 on groupon...is temperature really worth $70? Those of you who have a monitor with temperature, do you use it?

  • We have the one that shows the temperature. We do look at it but I think mostly because it is there. Would I be lost without it? No.

  • Temp is probably not worth $70 but it has come in very helpful a few times.  We use it a lot to check the temp b/c the baby sleeps upstairs where sometimes the temp is a lot different than the downstairs of our house.   In the winter, it can get pretty cold up there so we keep a programmable heater in his room and one night I was checking the monitor before bed and the temp said 88!!  I ran up there and his room felt like a sauna.  Apparently, he had turned the temp up when he was getting ready for bed and we didn't realize it (this is when he was a little over a year and always wanted to play with the heater!)  However, it's been about 2 years now and I think the temperature part doesn't even work well anymore because it has been dropped so many times (he is always pulling at the cord) but we are not planning to buy a new monitor.

  • The temp on ours is never accurate. I wouldn't stress over it and save the $!

  • We have the serenity star that shows temperature plus acts as a noise machine, AND a nightlight! This costs about 80 bucks and is multi functional.

We also have the Motorola monitor. Great combo.
  • Our Motorola monitor temperature is
    never accurate either.
  • Our temp is accurate and I use it a lot. It's nice to know if it's cool/warm enough in his room at any given time.

  • Temperature is a little extreme, isn't that what a thermostat is for??
