High blood pressure gals

hi!!!! Checking in on my high blood pressure ladies. How is everyone doing? Has anyone developed pre-eclampsia? Blood pressure spiked? I'm about the same. Mine has went up a little bit but it was pretty low with the meds they have me on so I am still in the clear. I have weekly appointments now & nst tests..... We're getting so close so now I'm extremely worried of it going higher. :(

Re: High blood pressure gals

  • I haven't had any high blood pressure yet this time, I had pre-eclampsia with my first, but my face has started puffing out off and on a bit so I'm kinda worried I'm going back that direction. Time to start monitoring my BP :/

To help stay low try to avoid stress, and a lot of salty foods. It doesn't seem like it will make a difference but it does :)

  • My BP has stayed consistent between 140/80-145/85 so he hasn't medicated me yet or he's worried it will cut too much blood flow to the baby, next week I start my TWICE a week appointments and NST's. I'm a lot more worried about Pre-E with this pregnancy than I was the last, but keeping my thoughts positive!
  • My ob is worried I am heading towards pre-e. Never had blood pressure issues with my other 3 pregnancies so this is new. No meds so far. In 2 weeks I start nsts anyway for gd
  • Still just monitoring mine. I've been staying solidly under 140 but they are still being all twitchy about it.
  • I'm very lucky and have no issues this time. I check it and log it daily still to make sure.
By this time last pregnancy I was already very swollen and it was creeping up. I'm 30 weeks now. I was on bed rest by 34 weeks last time.
Now it's averaging 125/65. I really think the gestational diabetes diet has helped me eat less junk and avoid the swelling and high BP. I guess there's one perk!
  • I was borderline high last time and they are keeping an eye on me this time. I had a high reading around 28 weeks and then again just now. I'm actually waiting for my OB right now! Hopefully he likes my US results from Monday and isn't too concerned about the slightly high reading today.

Went to the dr. today and it was 134/65. It's been under 140s for the past couple weeks without medication, so doc is just going to see me every week until I deliver as a precaution. Going on disability at 36 weeks to chill out before delivery since work definitely raises my BP. Good luck ladies and stay calm/relaxed!
  • Mine has been really good so far this time.  Only one spike at about 15 weeks that sent me to the ER.  Other than that one time it's been lower than it's been in years.

And now that I've said that I'm sure the trouble is about to start. ;)

  • Well, I am now on bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy due to high blood pressure. I did the 24 hr urine analysis for pre-e and came back negative (thank goodness). My doctor will monitor me every week until delivery. Il be 34 weeks tomorrow, but frightened. She said if the blood pressure problem persists then il deliver at 37 weeks, which is 3 weeks from now or if it calms down know later than 39. Either way, having a newborn and a toddler has finally become extremely real. The labour part doesn't even scare me.. It's going back to the restless nights and exhaustion levels. I hope I can be the same mom I have been with one with two little boys...
Sorry about the rant- just having a moment of panic.
  • Went to the hospital Monday night and my blood pressure was at 155/109 when I arrived I'm currently 33 weeks. After staying overnight and doing the 24 urine sample, my levels were slightly elevated, but not to the point to be on bed rest. When I went to the OB my blood pressure was 143/89 and amniotic fluid was low. I have to return in a week to get an AFI and to test my blood pressure again. She stated I'll probably be induced at 37 weeks
  • I was induced at 36 weeks on the dot with my son almost two years ago, I had had high blood
Pressure throughout my whole pregnancy with him (140/100 around) I had already been on hospital bed rest with him because my cervix started dilating at 24 weeks! Talk about a crazy pregnancy he's healthy as an ox now! I'm 31 weeks today and my blood pressure is in the same 140s to 100s, my high risk doctor is awful and I hate going to her she doesn't really answer my questions, has anyone gotten out on lebatalol for HBP while pregnant?
  • So I went in on Monday and they said I was borderline for high blood pressure. My first reading was 147/97 my second was 135/78 they sent me home with a blood pressure cuff to do at home readings twice a day and I have to go back in a week to discuss the results. A little freaked out about it I didn't have this with either of my other two pregnancies. Reducing my salt in take and trying to reduce my stress levels to see if that helps. Thanks for sharing your stories ladies it has helped a ton seeing how many of us there are and hearing that some of you have gone this route before and have totally healthy kiddos! Needed this today
  • @Nidyall what do you mean gotten out on lebatol? You mean has anyone gotten on it?

My guess would be "put," based on the qwerty layout. ;)
  • I was wondering the same thing, but yeah that makes more sense!
  • Yeah it does make sense and now I feel dumb lol
  • And yes- I have been on two pills a day since k became pregnant. Today at the dr my blood pressure has creeped up. Ugh so now she's talking induction earlier than expected:( hoping it stays at the same next week.
