Baby shower question

My cousin invited some family members on Facebook and created an event to my baby shower, but they haven't responded yet. Would it be appropriate if I send them a message such as "Hey, just wanted to invite you to my baby shower on the 26th, hope you can make it." Or just leave it as is?

  • I wouldn't until like the week before, just send a reminder if they haven't RSVPed and tell them you're trying to get a head count.
  • You're cousin could make a mass post that they'd all see. Like "hey just need a final head count for the baby shower. RSVP if you haven't already."

No, it would not be appropriate. Your cousin is planning this party, not you. When you become involved in hosting your own shower, it looks gift-grabby.

  • Some people do not look at Facebook events as there is so much garbage. So sending another note probably wouldn't help anyway to people who have not responded. It is also a month and a half away. I would recommend your cousin at least send an EVITE or make a phone call or something if she is unable to mail a paper invitation, especially to older people. Not your job or place.
