Crafty thread?

in April 2016 Moms
do we have a weekly crafty thread? I've seen those done in the past. I don't think I can commit to "boston" the check in but would love to have one! Can just do a quick how many weeks are you, what did you work on this week, what projects are you looking forward to, and a random gtky. Thoughts?
First BFP 12/2012, MMC at 9 weeks
Second BFP 6/2013, resulted in DS, born 2/23/14 :-)
Third BFP 5/2015, natural MC at 6 weeks
Fourth BFP 8/2015, hoping for sticky little brother or sister to H!

    I'm all for it, but my crafty projects for the next few months will all be home decor. We're moving from a tiny apartment to a decently sized house, and I have no furniture, no decor, and my budget is mostly going to savings for baby!

    I wish I had the time for crafts! Once we find out sex.. I know I'll have a lot of sewing projects though!

    I'm fine with variety in the craft! I like being inspired. And this way we all have a place to AW lol

    I'm not super consistent with working on projects, because I tend to binge craft, but I would respond when I've done something!

    I have a craft fail! I decided to make my own pregnancy pillow but I had a tough time with the jersey fabric. Pair this with impatience and voila! At least my dogs seem to enjoy it now...

    Great idea! I've had 5 pair of baby booties cut out for weeks now, meaning to make gifts for friends. But since I work, I don't have the energy on week nights and the weather has been too nice to spend indoors crafting on the weekends.

    My husband is shifting to nights for 35 days in oct/nov so I'm guessing I'll have a lot of time then to craft... When I'm not chasing the toddler!

    My craft projects are mainly furniture up-cycles - which will likely be geared towards nursery now that I am living in a house with a spare bedroom! I can't wait!

    Crochet is super easy to learn and there are tutorials over YouTube. I personally don't like knitting because it's more time-consuming, but to each their own! I'm not nearly as practiced in knit as in crochet, so that's probably part of it.

    I totally second @AmadorRose - YouTube is your friend! I taught myself that way and then asked my sister when I couldn't tell what I was doing wrong with one skill. I've known how to knit since 5th grade and I LOVE the freedom of patterns that comes with crochet!

    I'm sure there are fb groups too for crochet. I'm in an embroidery fb (a few actually), and they are so helpful!

    I'm still working on an aphgan I started in October of last year, crocheting... Can't wait to finish it and start making baby blankets, etc!

    I just made this recently for my friend Lisa's baby shower . I always buy size 2 diapers so mom to be can enjoy it for a while before taking it apart. I've probably made 10 of these with different themes and I think it's fun

    I'm 11 weeks and knitting coffee sleeves. We are roasters and have a ton of big shows coming up. I'd love to get back into pottery and make mugs but time and money are the issue. I'm looking for some patterns for knitting baby wear and when I'm done the current project I'll launch into that.

    There are some great YouTube tutorials! I prefer knitting. There are only two stitches to learn.

    I wish I was crafty. My MIL is currently making a bunch of stuff for us. She had us pick out material and yarn that we like and had even started a baby blanket before we even told her we were expecting.

    @jonesl12 my SIL makes those too, love that idea!

    I would love a craft thread, though I probably won't get going on yarn projects until the weather turns cool. Right now I'm doing lots of food things: jam, ferments, etc. (Or at least I was until the MS kicked in...)

    My husband joked that we have to tell sooner than later, because my crafting will be a dead giveaway, haha. I do tend to do yarn projects when I'm pregnant, but more painty kid crafts when I'm not. I'll probably finish a crocheted baby cocoon sometime today, and then see if I can find a pair of knitting needles. I have wool longies to make!
