April 2016 Moms

2nd+ time moms....when did you finally start feeling better?

I'll be 12 weeks on Thursday, and everyone keeps telling me it'll get better. That the second trimester is better...blah blah blah....I know everyone's experience is different and some women are sick thewwhole time. But I am getting desperate an just need to hope and pray that I too, will get relief soon.

I don't have HG, but the nausea and throwing up and omg the exhaustion! Now I'm taking zofran, which is helping reduce the vomiting, but dear lord the constipation it causes! Its just one thing after another. I'm starting to feel depressed and down, because each day is a struggle and sometimes I feel like I'm dying a slow death (melodramatic yes, but I'm also very hormonal now, which blows).

Just wanted to hear others experiences and when you started feeling better (if you ever felt better).

I'm really hoping everyone says they magically woke up on week 12 day 0 feeling like a brand new person.

  • I get (twice now) a month of nausea from weeks 6-9 and then a few months of light headedness and almost fainting. I hope it eases up for you soon!!

  • In my first pregnancy I had nausea and vomiting until about 16 weeks. In the second pregnancyI had less vomiting, due to taking Zofran, but viscous all day nausea and exhaustion well into the second tri. I was a good 20+ weeks before I could get up in the morning with the confidence that I wouldn't throw up. I took the Zofran intermittently until about 26 weeks. I hope to reverse the trend this time (fx but not counting on it).

Probably not what you wanted to hear...sorry. Hope yours resolves soon :)

  • I had terrible nausea until 20 weeks with my daughter. I'm 10w5d and have noticed a few differences already with this pregnancy, but still horrible nausea. Fx it doesn't last as long this pregnancy and that it eases soon for you!
  • No nausea with any of my pregnancies, but the fatigue and other first tri symptoms end at 13 wks for me.

  • My first pregnancy really followed the book. At the start of the second trimester I felt much better. This pregnancy I haven't really gotten sick thank God. I've taken to eating about 6 to 7 times a day though, really small meals and it's helping. If you haven't tried it just try it because last pregnancy I was super sick and this time I have yet to throw up.
  • I started feeling "better" at 14 weeks, and totally fine by 20.
First BFP 12/2012, MMC at 9 weeks
Second BFP 6/2013, resulted in DS, born 2/23/14 :-)
Third BFP 5/2015, natural MC at 6 weeks
Fourth BFP 8/2015, hoping for sticky little brother or sister to H!

  • I had unending MS with my first. It started around 4 weeks and went through week 37. I was induced at 37 weeks 4 days. So yeah pretty much the whole time. Phenergan kept it to about once a day. This time is only slightly better

  • I had very little morning sickness with my first. With my second it was so bad I was hospitalized because of dehydration and was on zofran for several weeks. However, I did get much better around 12 or 13 weeks. This time is not quite as bad. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow and praying relief will come soon. Hope you feel better soon too!
  • I had ms with my first, threw up or dry heaved every morning until week 14 when it suddenly stopped. The food aversions didn't end until I gave birth.
  • Mine eased around 11 weeks but wasn't completely gone until 14 weeks. Also if I forgot to eat or didn't eat I would get my ms symptoms all over again, this lasted through my pregnancy last time.

  • This isn't boding well... I've been keeping my fingers crossed that the 2nd trimester will be better.
  • 19 weeks with my first but still had Nausea/vomiting "incidents" as late as 34 weeks.

Currently Almost 12 and feeling better with incidents... Hoping I'm more typical this time.
  • Ugh sorry :-( Last time my symptoms cleared up around 10 weeks... hoping that it repeats this time! So far so good today, but the worst of my nausea usually strikes late afternoon/early evening.

  • First pregnancy, I had practically zero nausea in first tri, only fatigue. This time around I've been nauseous 24/7 since mid week 5. Not amused. I don't want to do this for another month either!
  • I generally started feeling a lot better after 8 weeks. I noticed that the nausea was worse when i didn't eat throughout the day. Hang in there, your reward will be a beautiful little miricle :)
