Here's an interesting blog post: https://fitnessista.com/2015/04/pregnancy-supplements-why-im-not-drinking-shakeology-while-pregnant/. Take it for what it's worth, I guess. I love protein shakes and am sad to give them up. There's so many Herbalife shops in town that were convenient to pick up a great shake (why do they always taste better when someone else makes them?), but Herbalife uses soy which has phytoestrogens that can mess supposedly with hormones. I guess I like to err on the side of caution.

You should ask your doctor. I still am drinking my Whey protein from Cellucor and I know several fit moms that have/had continued drinking their whey protein. . Your doctor knows best. I have never taken Shakeology. Your body needs extra protein during pregnancy. That's what I drink Protein Shakes it help you maintain the muscle you have.
I have Cellucor protein at home and it has a "do not use if pregnant" disclaimer on it. Check with your doc
This is exactly why I said check with your doctor! Mine has okayed it. Protein Powder is the least of my worries and I know every pregnancy is different
I don't understand these. I think they are a pointless product. Most people get the 15% of protein they need per day from actual real food. People only try to consumer more when they are trying to gain muscle. This can also be done using real food.
I'm not going to say I'm the cleanest eater in the world, but I try to eat real food as much as possible, pregnant or not.
So I would recommend eating yogurt, beans, cheese, nuts, seeds, and meat (assuming you aren't vegetarian) for protein instead of drinking a powder.
I have been wondering the same thing, I have been having smoothies with Arbonne protein powder (pea based protein) and am planning on bringing the ingredient list to my doctor on Monday to make sure it is okay. I've read a lot of mixed things online but the smoothies really keep my blood sugar stable and help me feel good, and I have a feeling they will be easy on my stomach when nausea kicks in. I'll report back after talking to my doctor!
I eat a ton of real foods. Before I was pregnant I was drinking a smoothie in the morning with strawberries, spinach, and protein powder. I try to eat mainly protein and healthy fats and not as many carbs so, while doing that protein powder has been a great option. I don't use protein powder to gain muscle. I've also read about the importance of protein while pregnant and so that's why I'm exploring a pregnancy-safe protein powder. I had food aversions with my first pregnancy and had a hard time eating meat so that also affects protein intake.

Just my 2 cents.
I'm not sure anyone is advocating "drinking a powder" instead of eating real food. Everyone has their reasons, but for me a healthy shake that includes protein powder (and fruit, almond milk and sometimes a nut butter) is a quick and easy way to get out the door on the morning with an infant while still putting my health first.
I eat clean 99% of the time and a shake with protein powder is a part of my daily routine. It certainly doesn't replace "real food."

I agree!! I use the 80/20 rule on eating clean. I drink protein shakes right after my lifting sessions. It's a routine I have had for years. I eat whole unprocessed foods for the 6 other meals I have. To each their own!
I've been thinking about trying quest protein powders. I eat very healthy but have a difficult time getting enough calories a day so my husband suggested trying shakes to add calories each day.
I don't do protein powder because I've only ever gained weight and bloat from them. Maybe I'm allergic/sensitive to whey, but it made me a bit skeptical that they work. I do love my shakes though! I just use Greek yogurt instead of protein powder.
