The baby name theory???

Hi everyone! I searched for something like this, but couldn't find anything. I was wondering if anyone has heard of the baby name theory that if you have easily decided on a boy/girl name but can't decide on the other gender, that means you are having the gender on which you do have a name. My SO and I decided on a girl name in one go, but are having so much trouble with boy names. Everyone says that means we are having a girl. Has anyone had experience with this being true? Thanks!!

It's very unscientific but yes this was true in my case.

I would say definitely no. I've never heard of that. With our first we decided on a boys name in like a second. It was a girl.

We agreed on a boy's name weeks before we found out this baby is a girl.

You'll get some people who it's true for and others it's not true for like any other old wives' tale. I've never heard of this particular theory though.

For us we easily decided on a boy name and could never figured out the girl name, I couldn't even concentrate on girl names when I tried and turns out we are having a boy. Most of the calendars and wifes tales were true for a boy too, but could all be coincidence!

Lol. I've heard the opposite. If you can decide on a name for one sex easily and not the other, the one your are struggling with is the one you'll have.

In any case, like all old wives tales, it's a 50/50 chance.

We've known 2 choices for a girl name for over a year. We have 2 boy names agreed on as of 13 weeks or so.... What does that mean? We will have 4 kids?

This is completely opposite for both of my pregnancies. I'm going to have to say it's still 50/50 regardless.

50/50?! No way!! Haha my pregnancy brain got so bad one day I asked my husband what the odds are he thought we would have each gender. And he goes, "I don't know, there's 3 kinds we could have" and the whole day I was totally wondering what the third gender was..
Sarcasm and pregnancy don't work.

It was the opposite for me. I had three girl names that I loved with a favorite front-runner, and nothing at all for a boy. Turns out, the little bean is a little guy.

We have 2 boy names picked out from years ago. Never finalized a girl name and found out we are having a girl. Now DH wants to rethink the small part of the girl name that I THOUGHT we had decided on. Ugh lol

For years we had a girl name picked out. When we found out I was pregnant we were sure that's the name we'd pick and liked a few boy names but weren't quite sure. Then suddenly we were dead set on a boy name but wanted to change our girl name. I really wanted a specific one but my husband didn't really like it. I'd say about a week before our gender appointment we agreed on another girl name we really liked but at that point I was almost positive I was having a boy. Gender appointment revealed its a girl!!
I'm sure there's many who will say that's how it works out for them, but for me I can't really say it had anything to do with it.

Nope, we had twice the number of girls' names picked out and had a top favorite that both H and I loved. Baby boy is still currently nameless.

Interesting theory! We had an easier time picking out a boy name with our son. It's the opposite this time around. We have a girl name picked out but no boy name. Not sure what we're having yet though. I kind of feel like it's a girl but who knows!

with our first we were team green and had to pick out a boy and girl name. we agreed on the boy name weeks before she was born and the girl name i think 1 week before she was born. girl names are just hard for us b/c we don't have the same style.

With my son we instntly agreed on. Girls name but argued over boy's names for months. We can agree on a girls name this time and are struggling with a boys name. We shall see....

Ours was the opposite. We settled on a girl name very quickly and struggled with boy names. 3 weeks ago we found out we were having a boy and still can't come up with a name!
