Question regarding saline infused sonogram

Hi All.  I'm new around here, I intro'd earlier in the week.  Anyway, I had my saline infused sonogram and trial transfer on Thursday.  Today (Saturday), I'm spotting.  Is this normal?  It's really brown, like old blood. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!

Re: Question regarding saline infused sonogram

  • I had mine last month, funny story about it in the funny side up post. ^#(^

I didn't have spotting, but was told to expect it and that it would be normal. I also felt fine the day of, but like id been kicked in the stomach the following day. Also normal. If you have concerns or severe cramping and bleeding or if you just feel anxious and want to clarify, call your RE. I did just to verify the pain was normal and felt much better having talked to them. But otherwise, it is most likely just some left over lining from your prior cycle and a good thing to get flushed out! GL!

  • Also- brown bc old from last cycle and possibly the iodine if they did a catheter measure (they do that at the same time for IVF).
  • Thanks @HBaMama2B.  Duh.  I never thought about the betadine.  Geez.  I'm a nurse practitioner for goodness sake.  I think it's because this is all so new and kind of overwhelming.  The spotting seems to have gone away today.  I had some cramping on Friday and Saturday as well (and nothing the day of).

I read your story about it on the funny side up post (love reading those) and was thinking about that while I laid there.  But, I laid there for quite a while asking her questions so I think a lot of leaked out.  :)  I didn't have the river of water situation...
