Thrush help?

so I noticed Friday night (right after Doc office closed!) that my LO had white spots on the inside of her cheeks, and one on her lip. I called the doctor but unless it's an emergency it has to wait until Monday. Unless I take her to urgent care.. Which seems silly for a classic thrush case. Bad news? I got it on my nipples now as well.

Baby is eating well despite it, just her latch has gone crappy and is smacking rather than sucking at first for awhile. But is there anything I can do to make myself comfortable and help baby as well until Monday? I don't mind taking her to urgent care but it seemed a little extreme. We dealt with a possible thrush case with my oldest but they weren't sure, so now I know for sure it's what this LO has but not what to do in the mean time, like a home remedy that may help?


Sorry if this is a bit scattered.. Super tired and dd1 isn't listening so yeah

    :( I'm sorry to hear you may have this! It's NO fun for sure.

    DD is getting over Thrush. I would be weary of home remedies for baby.. But my LC told me that a diluted vinegar solution may help mom. You just soak them in it for 5mins or so after each feeding. Let them air dry then put coconut oil on them (that's what she said).

    I called my OB and got myself a prescription though. Just easier than dealing with that.

    If you are not extremely uncomfortable and LO is still eating well I would wait. 24 hours wouldn't make or break Thrush IMO.

    So I would call my OB? I meant to ask if I called my PCP, my OB-GYN, or LOs pedi.. Lol like I said, the doctor just looked at dd1 said she may be developing it; and gave us a script to use just in case she was. That was almost 3 years ago! And we never ha an issue again. But LOs mouth definitely has it right now, spots don't disappear and my nipples have never felt like this before and what cued me to check was I started burning and feeling these odd pains in my boobs. Sure enough, mine are red. But I wasn't sure who to call for me or if LOs doctor would give us both the same thing or what

    I would call my family doctor and get a prescription for fluconazole to treat your own thrush. It hurts like hell, I know, so best deal with it ASAP! I don't know For sure, but if your ability to feed your baby is jeopardised then it may qualify for urgent care?

    In Australia you can get topical treatment for thrush in babies from the pharmacy, I think it's called Daktarin over here. Something like this may be available where you are too.

    Hmm. I have 4 fluconazole tablets, 100 mg , from right around the time I got pregnant. They assumed I had a bladder infection that went into my kidneys, which is pretty normal for me. So they gave me antibiotics plus 4 100mg fluconazole to take. I never did. I ended up having a SCH. I'll call and see what they say.
    I have a standing script for fluconazole because I'm one who's body hates them when hormones change ;)

    Her feeding isn't compromised. She's eating well, just not latching well at the very beginning.. Definitely eating well , or I would have busted down the doors to urgent care or an ER, but copays for urgent care or ER are crazy..and considering she's eating fine, I'm ok with being unomfortable for a few days . The vinegar approach gets a thumbs up!
