Random questions and concerns!

Concern: I let DS pretty much stay on or against me all day. I am getting a cold and am soo worried I will spread to him.
----------------------
Questions:

1. Do you think baby arms/legs "fall asleep"? I can't imagine he isn't cutting off circulation with some of the positions he holds his arms!
----------------------
2. Has your LO ever woken up with a gooed shut eye? Of course pedi is closed today! Just one eye that was clear at 4 AM. It doesn't seem painful, wiped clean at 6 AM and it hasn't gunned up again. We messaged our family Dr and she said may be a viral infection. I'm interested to see if it repeats tonight.

Re: Random questions and concerns!

  • Are you BF or Pumping? The Dr told me that when we are sick our milk will give the baby antibodies to fight off the cold.

Imnot sure about the sleepy limbs..

The eye junk could be a blocked tear duct, DS has it and it comes and go. Since they haven't junked up again that's a good sign it's not infected. Try using a warm cloth and massaging the inside of your lo's eye that will help if it is a blocked tear duct.

  • We have been formula feeding for a couple weeks now due to a med I am on. I'm trying not to kiss or talk directly to his face to cut down on the direct exposure.

  • The eye thing is a blocked tear duct. Saw our pedi a week ago and asked
  • DS had the eye thing, went away after a few days. As long as the goop isn't green, no cause for worry. Green means infection (this is from my doc)
  • No more eye trouble so far, fingers crossed.

This. I asked our pediatrician and she said the same thing.

For the arms falling asleep, I would assume they can just like adult limbs. But just like adult limbs, I would assume it would be uncomfortable for your LO and they would adjust their position on their own. As long as they aren't being held/stuck in a weird position where they aren't able to adjust themselves (like in a bouncer or something), I wouldn't worry about it.

And like a PP said about the cold, your LO will get antibodies from you if you continue to BF. If you're feeling very sick, it wouldn't hurt to run it by your pediatrician though.
