dark brown/black blood post partum?

Just curious if it's normal to have blood so dark it's the darkest brown & black..? I'm 4 wks post partum. I haven't completely stopped bleeding since I gave birth, but some days it has lightened up some. I just went to the restroom & now it's this color. Anyone else?

Same here, my doc told me it's normal, but if it appears as bright red then that's cause for concern. However if it concerns you, just call your doc to be assured.

Yes that's normal. Sounds like it's getting to the end for you.

Agree with PP. This means it's old bleeding making its way out. Bright red means it's frank or current bleeding, which would be more cause for concern.
