Baby Moves

I am 19 weeks and three days. Last night I think I felt first movements of baby in there. I was sitting at my desk browsing Pinterest and my stomach moved. Kind of like a hiccup without me having the hiccups. Is this baby? Or am I crazy? Thoughts?

Re: Baby Moves

  • For me, the first movements felt like a tap here and there from the inside.

  • I agree, I felt it for the first time yesterday. I told my husband it felt like a soft tap like the baby was telling me " hi mom"
  • I felt it first at about 20 weeks. It felt like soda bubbles popping in my belly. In the span of one week, I've become the mother of the Karate Kid, or possibly a member of an interpretive dance troupe. Very soon, there will be no question that it's baby!

I felt mine at 19 weeks too.  I couldn't believe it, but it was definitely him.  I'm 20 weeks now and I feel him every day.. ALOT.  Its like he's doing cartwheels in there.  I can't believe I have 20 more weeks of this! lol

But congrats on your first flutter.  It definitely could have been the baby.  It could have been gas too, but probably the baby :-)
  • I think that sounds like the baby. I don't know how to descibe my feelings but they got more obvious. Mine started around 19 wks too.
  • Sounds like baby. I'm 23 weeks today and finally feel a lot of movements, enough for her to move my stomach
  • Regular movements started by week 19. Before that it was just a flutter here or there and nothing for a couple days. Week 20 and he's way more active. I can actually see his hiccups.

  • Sounds like it was. You know what is normal for your body. Baby lately decides it's time for cartwheels right when I lay down to sleep.
  • My little baby is kicking away. Made 22 weeks today and I'm so excited.. Seems like he sleeps a lot though
  • If it doesn't feel like normal stomach feelings that you've experienced before it's the baby. I've felt mine since 17 weeks. My doctor was skeptical even I thought it might be gas but it was totally her. I have a posterior placenta so I'm guessing that's why I felt her so soon. By 19 weeks my husband could feel her kicking too. Now at 21 weeks I see my actual stomach move & now she keeps me up at night flipping and kicking.

Same story here! Except hubs insists he can't feel anything but I think he's in denial cause I can feel LO hit his hand!

And OP the only way I can describe what the first movements felt like is someone poking me very gently from the inside. Try laying on your back and putting some pressure on your lower belly. That's how I figured out for sure it was baby!

  • The movements last night felt exactly like hiccups so I thought of you OP! Also, sometimes I feel like baby is tickling me from the inside haha.
  • Yay! I felt little movements here and there every few days at 18 weeks, only if I was laying on my stomach. I'm 20w3d now, and I feel her all the time! She must be doing summersaults or something...it's always a weird rolling sensation.
  • I started feeling movement around week 20. Now only a week later she is very active in there. If I poke her she kicks back. I feel like it's a little game we play.
