Feeling confused

My last period was July 27th. I took a pregnancy test on August 26th because I wasn't feeling like my normal self. I found out that I was pregnant. I have had previous miscarriages my last one was in December. I started spotting last week so I called the doctor because I was worried. They had me take a blood test and my HCG levels was 3433. I went back to have another one done 64 hours later and it went up to 5563. The doctor then asked me to go in for a Ultrasound. When I went in for my appointment they said I was not measuring at 6 weeks like I should be based on my last period. The nurse called me yesterday and said they see a gestational sac and yolk sac and it looks fine. I'm so scared because I don't know what is going on. I have to go back in 10 days to have another ultrasound so they can see if they find the fetal pole. Could I have gotten a positive test so early in my pregnancy and everything is fine? Has anyone had this happen to them?

    I haven't had this happen but time will tell. I think it's easy to obsess over the numbers to know for sure but really it's just a waiting game. I hope it all turns out for you though. So far it all sounds positive though! Good luck!

    Same thing happened to me but no sac yet either... they think I'm 4 weeks go back for more labs tomorrow and us in 2 weeks

    It's possible that you ovulated later than in the middle of your cycle which is what they assume when LMP is used. That might explain not measuring 6 weeks. I've gotten positive pregnancy tests at 3.5 weeks past my LMP, so it's definitely possible to get a positive fairly early. Once they can see the fetal pole, they should be able to tell how far along you are. I agree that it sounds promising though. I wish you luck with your next ultrasound!

    Were you charting your BBTs to know when you ovulated? If not then you may have ovulated late as @knrands7 said above- LMP assumes you O on day 14 so if you O'd on day 18 for example then you'd actually be 4 days behind where the doctor thinks you are.

    Hope everything goes well with the next ultrasound.

    I am going through this exact same senario. At what I think is exactly 6 weeks for me my hcg was 23,561 - which is high - that same day we saw the gestational sac and yolk sac but no baby. I have to go in next Wednesday to see if there is in fact a baby. The reason I went to the dr was because I had a gush of watery red blood followed by dried blood and I've been spotting off and on. This is going to be the longest week!

    The same thing sort of happened to me. My LMP was JULY 13! BFP was Aug 25. Went for TVUS on the 8th (tuesday) and only saw G sac and Y sac. MD wasn't concerned. I'm going back on the 22nd to see how things have progressed.

    Only thing different for me is that I didn't have serum HCG done. Guess it's just a waiting game for us--I'm trying to think positive :) My MD made me feel more at ease as well.

    Meant to mention that my cycles were 38-46 days long. She estimated I was 5-5.5 weeks.

    I'm in the VERY same boat. LMP 7/26 or 27 and BFP on 8/27. Had a TVUS on 9/8 to make sure pregnancy was intrauterine (hx of ectopic), also thought I saw a spot of blood. TV US showed me behind the 6 weeks, 1-2 days that I thought I was, a gestational sac and yolk sac. However, no baby. Blighted ovum was thrown around and my dates being off. I'm a loss mama, so logically, I think this is another loss. HOWEVER, could I be off on my O date? Absolutely, I'm breastfeeding and haven't been tracking my cycle at all, so hoping I O'd late (I used to, but no idea now). HCG was 27,539 and only increased to 37,407 in 48 hours (worrisome in my mind, OB is optimistic). We are doing a repeat US next Thursday. FX that you/we all!! get good news!!

    My LMP was on 7/25, and I didn't get a BF(aint)P until 9/2! It wasn't until this week that it turned into a non-faint BFP. I have no idea when I ovulated since I wasn't temping, and I have irregular periods. I kept getting +OPKs from 8/11-8/14, so I thought my body was gearing up to ovulate maybe wouldn't, so I quit taking them. The last time we had sex was on 8/16. It makes no sense to me unless maybe the sperm lived in me for 3 days, but talk about an 11th hour Hail Mary. I go to the doctor in a week for my first visit, so I'm hoping to get a better idea of how far along I am.

    I'm not stressing - I have positive tests, they keep getting darker and darker, and within a week the line went from "am I seeing things" to darker than the control line. Maybe my husband has super sperm that lives forever, or maybe it's magic. Either way, still pregnant. :)

    This happened to me with my first, i ovulated differently than when they thought. They told me i was 6 weeks but i was really 4 weeks. I went back ten days later after taking a million blood tests and heard my baby girls heart beat :) BOTH my last pregnancies they told me my EDD and BOTH times they were two weeks off. Lol so if they said everything is in place and you blood looks good im almost positive you are just going through what i did with both my kids :) im actually waiting to call a doctor until i am farther along this time so i dont have to deal with that again haha

    @Nicolewhitt you just made my night! I hope that's what I am going through. It's scary though because they have you take all these test . Best of luck with this pregnancy as well :-)

    @jteix1 thanks mama! Yea i remember going in 5 times in those 10 days for 8 viles of blood! I was like cmon you really cant decide im pregnant!?! Haha best of luck let us know what happens!!

    I'm also in the same boat.. My LMP was 7/29 (I think! It may be a day or two later as I haven't been tracking at all) I know for a fact that my hubby and I had sex on 8/14 as it doesn't happen often with 2 little ones running around :( I got a strong positive on a Walgreens test on 8/27 - afternoon pee too! On 9/9 at 3am I had a gush of watery red blood followed by brown blood went in that am for an tvus and blood work - only saw gestational sac and yolk sac, no baby. Hcg was 23,561. Ultrasound tech said it looked like a "very early pregnancy" .. Can sperm really survive an entire week in my body??!?!? So I'm confused... Not throwing in the towel yet. I go for another tvus on Wed am - it just feels like it is so far away! The nurse only scheduled that one blood test too. Hope we all see bright flashing heartbeats at our appointments!!
