Progesterone is killing me. I can't leave the house.

I don't know what to do. I'm dizzy, exhausted, and sick 24/7. I know that it intensifies pregnancy symptoms, but this is ridiculous. I've already lost 5 lbs that I really can't afford and I'm only 6w5d, I think. I had HG with my son and now I'm terrified that it's happening again, but worse. (I was hoping they were wrong about the HG and it was just my severely diseased and now dearly departed gall bladder). I have two kids to care for and I have no idea how I'm going to do that come Tuesday. Should I call first thing Tuesday and have them redraw my levels? This can't be healthy and I can't do this until week 12.

  • Can you take it before bed? That has really helped me. And I take it every other day.

  • I'm taking 200 MG 2x a day :(
With these directions, there is no way for me to avoid taking it during the day.
  • Are you taking to orally?  I've had good luck with vaginal progesterone and from what I understand the vaginal progesterone is sometimes better tolerated by women who've had issues with PIO and/or oral progesterone.  I think I posted this in another thread, but my progesterone levels have been in the 280's (crazy, crazy high) since I received my BFP (I'm 7.5 weeks now) and I'm feeling totally fine.  When I first started the progesterone the day after my egg retrieval I felt terrible.  It took maybe a week before my body seemed to adjust--in the beginning there was quite a bit of dizziness and nausea.  My point is that maybe you'll get lucky like I did and start to feel better once your numbers stabilize.  And it might be worth asking your doctor about different progesterone delivery options--maybe you'll tolerate something else a little better.

    Good luck!
  • I'm taking oral progesterone 200 mg, supposed to be 2x day but my dr told me if I can't handle it in the morning to take both pills at night before I go to bed.  I do still experience the nausea during the day but its not so bad that I can't leave the house.  If your on oral maybe check with your dr on taking both at night?
  • I'm taking 200mg 3x a day vaginally and I haven't had more than mild nausea, so I wonder if that method might be easier? I wonder if you could ask your provider about that option?
  • I called yesterday and they had me come in to retest my levels and pick up diclegis samples. I left the house today (not for an appt), so that's a win!
  • I would def ask about a different method of delivery
