I was wondering if anyone has any experience they can share about doing a natural rather than medicated FET cycle. I am in monitoring for the natural cycle which my RE recommended becuase i have never had any issues ovulating or with my period. He advises success rate would be the same so it seemed a no brainier-- why load up on hormones if they aren't helpful, right?! We did stims and ER in July and started the BCP in August. I went for monitoring on cycle days 4,10, and 14 and no signs of ovulation yet which is totally freaking me out. I go for monitoring again tomorrow day 17 and my nurse said the doctor may cancel the cycle or switch to medicated. I'm so confused!! They didn't say anything to me about any possibility of an irregular cycle after stims so I am totally caught off guard and will be deveststed if we have to push a transfer again. We only have one embryo frozen after PGD testing and we didn't plan on a frozen transfer but were sort of forced into it by our clinic. I feel constantly in edge waiting for a transfer and it just doesn't seem to be happening.
Anyone have any good or bad experiences with natural FET?
Re: Natural FET cycle
Thank you @HBamama2B! Got the call yesterday afternoon that the dr wants to switch to a medicated cycle--just now telling me that after doing stims sometimes your cycle can be off which makes it unable to proceed with a natural FET. Something to keep in mind for anyone considering a natural FET. I thought it made the most sense, but trying it has only set us back another month.
I hope your first stim cycle is going well and I wish you much success with the process. For me, the shots weren't as bad as I thought they would be, I just felt super bloated at the end, tired and my back was very sore. I was totally fine after ER and didn't feel a thing the day of or day after. The ER was a breeze for me so have no fear of that--it really wasn't bad! It's all the waiting after ER that's a killer!
Good luck and thanks so much for your positive note!
