18 weeks and quit feeling baby?

I started feeling baby at 14 weeks, last week my husband could feel him moving and kicking. The past 3 days i haven't felt him move much ... Should i be worried or is this normal?

Re: 18 weeks and quit feeling baby?

  • 18 weeks is a little early to feel baby moving. The official time where you should start counting kicks is 28 weeks (I believe or somewhere around there) it's in several threads on here if you just search for it. I freaked out to when my little boy wasn't moving every day but now that I'm 27 weeks he deff is moving every hour lol. Baby might just be in a position that you can feel him/her kicking. Keep your head up and of course if you really feel concerned call your doctor or midwife!!!!

  • You might not feel like it, but LO still has plenty of room to wiggle quite comfortably in you. LO has probably just found themselves a nook that you can't can't feel them in. I didn't feel mine until around 18 weeks and it wasn't even near consistent until about 24 weeks. If you're concerned, call your OB/midwife and see what they say.

  • I didn't even feel baby until 17 weeks, and it was very infrequent until about 22-23 weeks. At 24+3 I feel her pretty consistently but it's still common to go an hour or two or even more without noticing movement. Not an expert but in what to expect it mentions counting kicks at 28 weeks.
Babies also sleep in the womb so not feeling anything could mean they are sleeping.
Call your doctor if you're seriously concerned.
